This guy has been tax assessor for 4.5 terms. Until recently, he had not given voters a reason to unseat him. I am confident that the voters will not be given a chance to unseat him because he (a) retires or resigns; or (b) he is convicted.

For 90% of the Rankin positions, they routinely run unopposed in both the primary and the general. I don’t think he has ever had an opponent, at least since I have lived here. Name recognition is tough to beat in these County races, so no one tries.

This guy has been working in the assessor's office since he was 16 or 17. He literally has close to 40 years in PERS.

Story Updated: Sullivan was arrested for DUI by Byram PD at 2 a.m. on March 26– the same day as the alleged incident (mentioned in an updated paragraph in the article linked to in the tweet I posted).

Rape over 16? 16 is age of consent if you are not in a position of authority then it's 18. Him being in public office make make it rape or did he physically forced a women over the age 16 to have sex with him?

Met John at his house last year and he seemed like a nice guy. You just never know.His brother is the mayor of Richland.

In situations like this, my first thought is always there's usually two sides to the story so don't jump to conclusions. But with the other information coming out about that day, it doesn't look good for him.
