Maroon Eagle's post about Charlotte got me really looking at the Mid-Major (aka Group of 5) conferences and how they'll shake out after this round of realignment sets up in the next 2-3 years.
By 2024, we'll have:
Looking at those line-ups, I would say The American is still technically the top G5 conference, but I don't think there's a lot of daylight between them and the Sun Belt, who I'd place at #2.
Conference USA is VERY clearly at the bottom and I'd put Mountain West above the MAC, so I would rank them out at:
1. AAC
2. Sun Belt
3. MWC
4. MAC
5. CUSA
