Rattler should sit out the rest of the year

This team is garbage and nothing but a liability to his NFL future. A physical liability and a statistical liability. He has nothing to gain from going back out there the last 5 games. The scouts have seen what they need to.

Do I really believe this? I don’t know. Everything I said above is accurate. I’m sure he probably should keep dragging himself out there each week for another public humiliation, but it’s not doing him any good.

Ever think he just loves playing the game?

Can’t sit him, guy is a competitor and needs to play. Football is not a sport where the top dog sits on bench. Quitters aren’t winners, but I get you don’t want him to hurt and I pray he doesn’t.

I wonder how much opting out would hurt his draft status.

Obviously, bailing on bowl games doesn't matter anymore. I'm not sure we're at the point where bailing mid season on your team is acceptable yet.

Ah, but that that’s thing. Who decides which games matter and which ones don’t? Of course he’s going to play and should play, but what about if we get to a point where we can no longer attain bowl eligibility? Do those games matter.

I chuckle at the responses of those who can’t identify hyperbole. I hope most here are not USC grads.

Your post reminds me of Steve Martins old FB joke,

He always likes to punt on first down

Lots of guys obviously never played quarterback. Rattler owes USC nothing, quite the contrary; he deserves a medal of valor for even dressing behind that OL with the timid receivers not named XL we have tippy toeing around out there. When it became obvious we were capable of nothing beyond pissing in the wind I was hoping Beamer was going to pull him just to get him out of harms way, and I’m serious. I’ll say this, he’s the toughest college qb I’ve ever seen.

That’s absurd. Pull him so he doesn’t get hurt bc the year is disappointing? Look, Ratt came back to improve his draft stock. Not so you or I could be satisfied with the team. He got what he wanted, now being mentioned as a potential 1st round pick.

I can’t imagine the outrage of Beamer just threw in the towel and benched all the starters to “save them” bc we suck.

Post was obviously facetious but speaks to the disastrous nature of the season.
Facetious? In the 2nd paragraph, you stated that everything you said in the 1st paragraph was accurate. You called our team "trash".

If you're what a USC grad should look like, God help us.

To be fair, we're playing like garbage.

You tell me what of the following is inaccurate: "This team is garbage and nothing but a liability to his NFL future. A physical liability and a statistical liability. He has nothing to gain from going back out there the last 5 games. The scouts have seen what they need to."

The team is playing like garbage (in case you're just tuning in). It is a physical liability to his NFL future b/c he's taking such a beating out there, he's genuinely at risk of injury and hurting his draft stock. It's a statistical liability to his NFL future given that we are now down our top 2 WRs, he has no chance of putting up meaningful stats. Because of all this, there really is nothing for him to gain personally from continuing to go back out there.

All that said, yes, it was facetious. Quite obviously. Nevertheless, as bad as the team is, I don't think it would matter much for our overall record if he sat out.
