Why is Spencer rattler supposed to be such a big deal. He throws wildly and radically. Why after throwing it away so many times isn't he taken out. I've been an avid gamecocks game for 50 + years and this is the first time I've questioned anything. How many games is he going to throw this year?

Are you serious? You aren't watching the same game everyone else is. He is running for his life every snap and still throwing 300+ yard games. Give him and us a break. The only reason we were even close in any of these games is because of him.

This is such a dumb post. 75% of his imcompletions were drops or throw aways. Everyone who knows football watches and realizes Rattler is playing amazing football.
The dude put up 250 and a TD while running for his life the entire second half again and he just is a bad QB. That’s this guys take. Dude is most definitely high.

Because generally when someone recently joins (like you did today) and throws out an outrageous criticism of probably our most valuable player, it is a pretty darned good indication that they are a wolf in sheep's clothing.
Yea this moron needs to be booted. At minimum blocked. Rattler I the best QB we have ever had. His passes are like a magical laser light show all while he’s running for his life. If we’d had half this good a QB for many years of mediocre football we’d be good for prob another 25 -40 SEC wins since joining the league

Rattler is playing at a high level. I was skeptical of him after and up and down year last year, but man he is playing lights out so far this season. Definitely the best QB in gamecocks history and definitely a high draft pick when he turns pro. His arm talent is upper echelon in my opinion.
Wanna clarify my comment as I think Connor Shaw is still the best QB in Carolina history and his will to win was unmatched. Rattlers arm talent though is on another level from any other QB in gamecock history. His passes this year have been a thing of beauty and rarely seen in these parts. Would love to see him stay one more year but hopefully if he does declare that Sellars will be a good mix of Rattler and Shaw. Go Cocks!!
Uhh - I felt like he played very well. That was the #1 team in the country, 2 time defending national champs, you do realize.
You know, when people say something this clueless around a group of more knowledgeable people about any given subject the ensuing conversation usually helps them understand how wrong they are. Either they get laughed out of the room to the point they're embarrassed and slink into the corner crying like a red face toddler or everyone just snickers under their breath and says okaaaay suuure! And then pretty much ignores them for the rest of their life.
Unfortunately this internet thing makes these people feel like their argument and their base of knowledge carries as much weight is everyone else in the room. The fact that they can't see everyone else in the room and the responses are measured because obviously they're posted on the internet rather than blurted out in someone's ear.
It would be cool if somehow a certain negative reinforcement similar to what they would receive in a real conversation could happen in this medium. I don't know like a mild shock through their phone or something. Sheesh.

I often fantasize about how our Spurrier teams would have looked if he'd had Rattler as QB. I think SEC champion would have been a given.
Literally part of the gamecock fan life cycle is to question why you pull for this team so hard and love them so much. Then do it some more and hope they finally win it all.

We have our second string QB playing receiver due to lack of WR depth. Which other Power 5 has that? One pass Doty attempted to catch was a high throw but catchable, but his hands were spread apart at the catch point and thus a clunker. If he were a natural receiver that catch is made and first down. Instead third and 10. Not Rattlers fault.
Yes, he missed a couple of throws at crucial times, but my God man how many passes were dropped, or receivers fluffed waiting for the pass to come to them instead of going to get the ball. One INT Lewis did just that. Waited while the defender undercut the pass with no intervention by the receiver. Maybe they will learn from that, we will see. Rattler is a pure passer. Probably best USC has ever had. HE isn't the best scrambler which is unfortunate because our Oline leaks like a Sieve. I do wish Rattlers motor was off the chart. he needs that desire to run for 5 more yards each carry with speed and still protect. He looked gassed at times. Dude, isolate on a couple of our OLine guys attempted arm pushes and still going backwards on much smaller but much faster defenders. Or better yet look at Stone "feet" Blanton. OMG was he out of position, out faked, or out strengthened on play after play. And Pup looked lost at times too. HE probably is playing #1 as a true Freshman. But pick on OL or LB play. Therein lies real opportunity.

I wasn't high on Rattler either most of last season. Then he showed what he could do. Great player/leader. Doesn't mean much, but has my support. Someone mentioned our WRs. I missed the games this year and have to rely on highlights. Anyone know what's going on with Landon Samson? Is he hurt? I thought he would be a target for Rattler this year.
