South Carolina athletics director Ray Tanner has received a contract extension, which was approved by the Board of Trustees on Friday afternoon. Tanner, who has over 10 years with the University in his current role, now has a contract that runs through June 30, 2026.
Tanner will also receive a raise to his annual compensation, which brings him from $1,021,584 to $1.175 million per year. The new contract is a two-year extension as his contract was set to expire on June 30, 2024.
South Carolina will not be obligated to pay Tanner a buyout for termination without cause from the period of July 1, 2024 to June 30, 2026. Should Tanner wish to leave his position, he will not owe the school any money, if he does so between July 1, 2024 to June 30, 2026.
