TD pass to Pickens would have been icing on the cake, even if we did lose. Those who played gave max effort but our D got worn down in 2nd half due to lack of offensive sustainability.Yeah, I’m not terribly disappointed. We were playing with a patchwork roster. Couple of the plays made today were by guys I’d never heard of.
I became a fan of his for sure. He will be missed.I sure was bad wrong about Adkins at te. I was not at all impressed when news of his transfer occurred. He turned out to be a real difference maker. The complexion of the game changed when he went out. Wish he had another year.

Mizzou and UF we’re head scratchers for sure, but it sealed Satterfield’s fate.I'm OK with all but two outcomes this year. They were inexcusable.
Superior physicality got us today; there was no shame in it. I'm not referring to today.
We weren't ready in terms of team development to open the SEC season on the road against two tough teams, one being Georgia. I'm not laying those to anyone's charge, either.

Considering their long time close relationship, I would take that with a grain of salt. Beamer will try to defend him and make excuses for him. What speaks more to the situation was the fact that Satterfield was one of only two coaches not to recieve a raise and extension last year.....that tacitly speaks volumes.Beamer has already outright said that wasn't true in an interview a couple of weeks ago. In fact, he said multiple times that teams/players/coaches just have bad games sometimes. Used Brady and Tampa as an example. He also called out on the Gamecock sites for that lie.
Public vs Private - there is a difference regarding coach speak!Considering their long time close relationship, I would take that with a grain of salt. Spot on. I believe that Beamer wanted to help Satterfield, his friend, find a new job. As Chris Clark wrote after Satterfield left, the offense, under him, had been "largely inconsistent".Considering their long time close relationship, I would take that with a grain of salt. I am looking forward to seeing Loggains work with the offense next season, especially in light of the fact that he worked with Kendall Briles during the past 2 seasons. That certainly won't hurt.Agree- I was very critical early on of SB. Some of the stuff I was most critical of (Satt) was proven to be justified. But, I'm very satisfied with the direction and outcome of this program in 2022 going into 2023. I'm proud of how hard the guys play, and the overall buy-in. No more Uconn or Va bowl game efforts (like in years past) that I could see.
I am hopeful that the OC will work out. I hope he uses plenty of Veer n' shoot (coming from Arky and K. Briles) and has a tempo element that is used. We NEED to have something like that. If we try to do NFL style offense solely....the GA, AL, LSUs of the world will mop the floor with us. Tennessee beat Bama this year with Air Raid...gotta have an angle. We gave up on the run, never established it and it showed in the Gator Bowl. Effectively why we lost...hope we rush the ball more than 22 carries in ballgames next year.

I repeat. Public vs Private! Then who was calling those 2 games? Ridiculous that the entire coaching staff, ESPN reporters, and the entire staff at Nebraska were all colluding to protect and help Satterfield. Must be a hell of a guy. lol
I repeat. Public vs Private!
The media gets their story and behind closed doors is the truth.
The ousted coach moves on. Nobody gets hurt. And life goes on.
Not sure which game you were watching but the offense in the first half of the Gator Bowl looked just like the offense from TN game until the injuries hit and our offensive weapons were further depleted.Absurd. Beamer didn't need to make excuses. He could have easily justified keeping Satt after those last 2 games. Ridiculous that some think that Satt was just standing there letting others call the plays. No chance he would do that. And where was that play caller during the bowl? Plus, Nebraska isn't going to allow their program to be some safety net for a bad OC. The entire conspiracy theory is a joke.
And when you look at the hiring process after Satt left, it was very apparent that we hadn't considered replacing him. Very obvious that we are starting from ground zero once he decided to leave.
This is true. Being a big time collegiate OC isn't for MOST people on earth...nothing to be ashamed of.Not sure which game you were watching but the offense in the first half of the Gator Bowl looked just like the offense from TN game until the injuries hit and our offensive weapons were further depleted.
The only excuses being made are being made by you.
Satterfield was quietly passed from one friend (Beamer) to another friend (Rhule) the way it's done in college coaching all the time.
Satterfield needs his cheerleader on the Husker board, so head on over!

True. Believe this speaks to the Loggins hire as well. The last few games looked more like OC by committee. Loggins comes across far more malleable than ever Satterfield did. Could be a great fit.
How did it "look" like OC by committee? And where did that committee go for the bowl game? And why didn't he hire from within from that committee?
In both the UT and Clemson game, Beamer-Lembo-Satterfield were shown consulting on key downs well outside of special teams play.
We put up 38 points in the bowl game.
I'm not privy to the internal hiring process.
That's BS. I've watched both those games multiple times, and I've seen nothing of the sort. And even if Beamer and him had a discussion about a play, that is completely normal in any coaching situation for any team.
And the offense put up 17 points, not 38. 21 points from defense and special teams trick plays. That's didn't happen in either the Clemson or Tennessee game. Even if you factor out non-offensive points for the entire season, 17 points is WAY below the season average per game.
Believe whatever you want to believe. I was offering an observation.
Please go to the Husker board and cheer on Satterfield there, where he is currently employed. He was not extended/renewed at Carolina and is no longer here.Even GamecockCentral rewatched the games and verified that Satterfield was calling the plays. The entire theory is beyond stupid.
