Russell is about to be ready... he has till sep. to get ready and he already has a leg up going over the playbook the guy is in great shape and has come a long way since he stepped on campus plus obvisly theirs something about newton where mullen doesn't like otherwise he would have went all out to get him or atleast more than he did... We Still Have Talent And I think he will finish this recruiting class up strong he has the same amount of time as last year and we kno what happened last year... Chris Relf Will Have The Option Game Down Pack I Think Just Watching What He Did To Ole Miss Gives us a lot for next year... cause we are going to be loaded with rbs that have tons of talent... According to every player I talk to, Russell is nowhere close to being ready, and probably won't be in the fall. and there is no chance Russell is as good of a passer. As for the rest of your post, I'm not really sure what to say. It is full of false statements and swan lake material. Lay off the cool aid man.

or perhaps a one-time NFL OC who will be looking for work next year.

So you think Newton is that good of a passer? I think it's probably a toss up right now as far as arm strength and accuracy of the two. Atleast from what I've seen and heard.

certainly not great. Russell could very well be as good a passer as Newton at some point this season.

What exactly? Cam Newton put up monster numbers this year, granted they were against JuCo competition. Tyler Russell dominated high school football over a year ago and hasn't played a live game down since then. He will not even be a factor passing until mid-season at best.

Wasn't the majority opinion of this board over the summer that Mullen is a bum if he doesn't redshirt the savior of MSU football, one Tyler Russell?

We wouldn't be posting anything like this if he'd signed w/us. This is (near) total crap. I do agree he's a potential cancer, but he does have talent and we do need him and he'll prolly be better than Shaffuh and Russell.

He doesn't crap out just b/c he doesn't sign w/MSU

By saying that Cam is simply an "adequate" passer at this point, and by also saying that Russell is not as good of a passer as Cam at this point, as stated in your above quote, you are saying that Russell is less than adequate right now? Thanks for proving my point.

I dont know what kind of information your recieving ronartest but T. Russell has done nothing but get better since the day he arrived on campus. I too have also talked to several players and one asst. coach and I also attended some practices myself and T. Russell is ready to take the reigns my friend. I have never heard one person thats associated with the team say one negative thing about the kid. If you recall the week of the Houston game, Dan Mullen hmself stated that he was throwing the ball great and moving the offense very well. Please next time before you say things about a player at least know what your talking about. The kid has a cannon for an arm and has had ample time to learn the playbook. Come springtime all of you will know that this kid is the real deal.

Tyler Russell is Better Than Tyson Lee And Chris Relf... He Didn't Know The Offense And Coming in Late Didn't help Either... he Started Showing Signs Of Getting Better At Practice At The End Of The Season... Now he Can Go through Spring Practice And Mullen Will Get him ready... mullen has the best track record of getting Quarterbacks Prepared And Ready To Play... Russell will be ready by september... Relf Will Have A Package Running Options... Which He's better At... ANd he is developing as a passer finally... (Not Counting The Accidental TD Pass To Bumphis...) he is way better than when he stepped here on campus... and mullen and les koening are still working on the special package with relf and getting more plays added... Cameron Newton Didn't Want To Come Here Period... if he had wanted to He Would have Commited here to begin with... If Mullen Wasn't Here He Never Would Have Considered Miss.State... His Track Record With mullen Had No Factor in his decison... He Was Only Coming Here If He Didn't Get Another Offer From another SEC School... And When he did we Seen What Happened He jumped up out of his seat to accept the offer... Forget Cam Newton We Just Have To Try To Send Him A message When We Play Auburn
...
P.S. Starkville Ms... Are Going To Boo Him OUt OF The State When Auburn Comes Here...

Let me guess- he's the next Brett Favre. Or is that going to be Dylan?

You have no right to try to change the culture of this board. Knowledge of a subject is not required in order for you post about it.

Not S. Robertson just trying to make everybody understand that their is a reason T. Russell was highly regarded. He's the real deal. I know most of us our gun shy to think that this is the QB we have always been missing, hell we have been burned and burrned badly on that but with that said I just want everybody to realize that TR has all the tools to be a damn good QB. He will have his shot to prove that he is the man for the job and he should do well.

MSU76 on GP typing everything in all caps or you capitalizing the first letter of every word in your post.

Sorry for the grammar smack, but I think it's warranted in this case.

I haven't seen Russell play yet so I can't speak to his throwing ability at this level.. but he has the tools so I don't why it's out of the realm of possibility that he could be adequate or even better than adequate

In the same sentence, "he" is both capitalized and not capitalized. How do you randomly pick words to capitalize? I need an explanation.

Cam didn't seem to be that good of a passer in the little playing time he got at UF, and word was that he wasn't accurate at all.
Now he's a beast of a runner, better than Relf, and at least throws adequately, so he would've definitely been the starter.
The running threat at QB is what makes this offense go, Mullen's offenses have been 10x better when they've had running QB's. UF had tons of talent when Leak was QB, but their offense wasn't nearly as good as it was when they had Tebow and when Alex Smith ran it at Utah.

I was all giddy about the possibility of landing "the other LT" until I watched the JUCO Nat'l Championship game and saw him basically **** the bed on their last offensive drive. With the clock winding down, he took a sack which reminded me too much of the TTM. He threw a ridiculously bad pick late in that game and just couldn't make a play during crunch time. He got bailed out on the punt return for a TD. Then at the end of the game with his entire Blinn team celebrating around mid-field, Newton lays down in the end zone by himself throwing his arms in the air as if he has done something special. After he visited Oklahoma and Auburn and lavished praise on both schools, I realized that he was either playing us for fools or a very immature young man. Either way, it is what it is. He may turn out to be a play-maker at AU, or just another great athlete playing QB that is prone to making bad decisions. Lost in the shuffle of all of the QB talk is Daniel Stegall. I would have to think that he could give us some much-needed depth once he gets back into football shape. I sincerely hope that Russell and Relf are ready to shoulder the load next season.
