over the weekend........I sent him one last Saturday when Cohen was announced thanking him for all he has done for MSU, and wished him good luck.

He sent one back a couple of days ago thanking me for the encouraging words and ended it with "Go Dogs !"

We are lucky to have this guy on campus.......

While there's no requirement for an AD to be accessible to the fans for him to be successful, all other things being equal, an accessible AD will be a more successful AD because he'll raise more money.

in addition to his accessibility via email - I would say we are lucky to have him. I think that's what Tillodawg was saying.

has an automated reply solution for email that sends out a "Thanks for your suggestion and your support for MSU athletics" email automatically. That would be classic.

Wait, and with a signature of "Go Dogs."

Tillodog interpreter.

For the record, I am a Byrne fan so far. But quite frankly, I don't see how he could possibly answer all the emails he gets, unless of course he has an automated solution or an army of people authorized to send out generic emails with his patented "Go Dogs!" signature. Oh, the throngs that would be disappointed and rule him inaccessible if that were the case.

He has replied to both my emails about the coaching position, one from during the search and the one sent after hiring Cohen.

In the second, he specifically addresses something I had written in the email, so it wasn't an automated response. I think this is just he is a guy that understands the importance of communicating and the ease of communicating we have today thanks to technology.

Regardless of the process, isn't it nice to have someone that responds to you, even if he doesn't have to.

very specific responses to my comments. Even Kyle V made a comment on his blog that Greg was answering every email and the PDA/Palm, or whatever he uses, was constantly attached to his hand. Even Cohen is the same way with his.

his response was pretty arrogant. I haven't bothered doing it since. If I feel inclined to email someone, I email the Chancellor.

something along the lines of "go play in traffic, you ridiculous SOB", he might have been nicer. Don't deny that's what it said.

One was for the great hire, and another with questions about the BC. It seemed like a personal response to both.
He said "Go Dawgs" not "Go Dogs" on mine.

was amazing as well. It was a "Go State!" followed by a slight pause, and then another "Go State!"

In perfect rhythm. He's definitely a State guy.

"Ok, I hired Cohen like you wanted. As soon as August gets here I will get on Crooms about being a hardheaded *** and opening up the offense. Also, I lost the list of offenses you sent to give to Coach Stansbury. Please re-send. Re-building MSU one sport at a time. Thanks for the help Peaches. Go Dawgs"
