Sucks too, looks like a good player.

We have to win consistently before we start taking quality players from their home schools.

Well damn. However, doesn't surprise me. 99% of the population in the state will be pushing him up there until he signs. I imagine the reason he was up unofficially was someone gave him a ride to convince him to switch.

If you are looking for a scholly from your State school, then why commit somewhere else? I understand that February is a long damn way away and there will be decommitments, but why even commit somewhere if you're not really committed? Do these $#*$%%@ idiot kids even know what the word commitment means?

offers don't stay out there forever.. if you take too long they can fill up at your spot and your offer goes away</p>

That's why this is all the more ridiculous. He was like our 5th commitment. It wasn't even May yet when he committed. I highly doubt Croom told him if he didn't commit really soon, there would be no room left for him. He had our offer, I am sure it would still be on the table come December when his season is finally over. If he wanted the offer from Arkansas and didn't get it by then, THEN commit. I guess I just don't understand why you would give your pledge to go somewhere out of state so soon if you really wanted that offer from your State school.

His high school coach told him to make sure about MSU before he committed. He said that Anthony wasn't the type of guy to make a commitment and then switch to another school. I guess the coach doesn't know Anthony too well.

Could this be a situation where a writer twists the story for his subscribers? I guess we'll see when the Hogs offer.

Let schools sign players whenever the hell they feel like it. Make both the school and the player be committed if a player signs (currently the school does not have to give a player a scholarship even if he signs). The only way out of the commitment would be by mutual agreement or if there was a coaching change. That would end all of this "soft committment" nonsense. A player would either be signed or not signed. End of story.

And while we're at the business of fixing recruiting, declare anyone associated with an Internet site or publication devoted to one school to be a booster who can't contact recruits.
