I realize we lost some tight ends, but we are signing way more than we lost. Are some of these guys expected to play other positions? Not intended to be a negative post, just curious.

Not sure if the coaches are asking for any of the tight ends to change positions. Phil Kornblutt also reported there is a tight end on the Western Kentcuky football team who is from Sumter and after the bowl game he will be coming to USC per the transfer portal.
I don't think we had a single TE left on the team after this season. So they'll probably compete. And some TEs are mainly blockers in jumbo/run packages. Sometimes you have 2 on the field, 3 maybe if one lines up as a blocking back. And you got to have reserves, and then there's STs.
He ran out of eligibility.
I concure w/ the above poster we had zero scholarship TE's left. We lost 4 that have played regularly. We need at least 5. Who knows where Knox will end up playing, either at TE or WR which was his previous position.
I think the staff has done as good a job putting a class together as could be expected - with potential for better during the late period.
