OK, I'll bite. My wife called me for dinner, but I can do this before she gets too mad......

Given that it's early in the cycle, and the impacts of transfers is always an unknown, do you expect Franklin to take a full class of 25 in the 2023 cycle, and how do you see the priorities position wise? i.e. obviously it seems the staff wants at least 5 and possibly 6 olinemen in the class, but what other positions do you see the staff loading up on based on the roster as well as the availability within PSU normal recruiting areas and the interest of those players in PSU at this point? Care to give us a predicted breakdown by position of a 25 player class?

I hit on this a couple weeks ago in a previous mailbag, so I kept it out. I try to not get too repetitive (which is hard this time of the year) but still wanted to answer your question. I appreciate you guys submitting these.

For now, I'm estimating around 23. I think that's most realistic. Probably just a few less than a full class, but at the same time, if they're rolling and are up to 20 or so with a handful of top prospects left in the fall, they'll find a way to get to 25 if they have players they feel they can't pass on. The numbers are very flexible with nine months to go before the early signing period.

QB - 1
RB - 1
WR - 3
TE - 2 (Avery & Schlaffer)
OL - 5 or 6
DE - 2 or 3
DT - 2 or 3
LB - 3
CB - 2 or 3
Saf. - 2 or 3

Defensive back is interchangeable. I just expect somewhere between four or five DBs. DL is similar. I think PSU feels pretty good about the depth of defensive linemen they're in the mix with. If they go on a roll at DT, for example, it'll probably end up three, then two DEs. You can say the same thing vice versa.
