I read an article from another source about our apparent slow down in commitments and said that it was concerning.
Does anyone have any concrete opinions on this?

It's not concerning to me...yet. There aren't a lot of blue chip recruits to begin with. We aren't going to pull one in every week. I think it seems worse than it is because for a few weeks there we were landing big time commits left and right. Then I think we hit a natural slowdown period. We are still in the mix for quite a few, so we'll see how it all shakes out.

Just read an article on Gamecock Connection that listed visitors for this weekends big recruiting push. Have to say I found it a bit disappointing to find we were trailing on a couple of our top targets at critical spots on our roster: Running Back and Edge Rusher. Namely Hill and Stewart. Both have 2 top leans listed and they are not us. At one time I thought they were listed as heavy leans to the good guys. Hope this information is wrong or at least we can make up ground this weekend. Also we were not in the top two on some dl targets we need. Admit. I'm a worrier. Also when you are going after top flight recruits and competing with the bigs of college football there are going to be disappointments.

Meanwhile, UPC, UT, and UF have been recently surging. That Napier boy looked dead for awhile. Not anymore. He must have gotten his NIL groove on. Ditto Dabo.

Recruiting is a marathon, not a sprint. Throw in decommits and I've found its much easier to start looking when a class is signed.

You win in big time football with stout los. Our ol commits are shaping up nicely. The dl is getting to be a concern as more and more dl targets
are being plucked off by our rivals, especially the one I dislike most the hated Georgia Bulldogs. Trace the college football programs that have shot up quickly and it’s almost always begins with a stout dl. Hope we can begin to pull in what’s left on the dl board.
