Dude runs with his legs flaring out like he is learning to run for the first time ever. Mingione is getting a bad wrap, not in a million years did he probably think he was going to get hit by a player on a pop-up 15 feet from the plate.

tournament while writhing in fake pain. I think I also saw him trip yesterday. Mangione should have thrown his glove up in the stands after the way he acted when he tried to give it back to him.

Isn't the guy who normally plays 1st base for them out (Austin Maddox? Seriously, is there a bigger collection of incredibly douchey names anywhere in America)? That was the guy in the cast, right?

runs like a baby giraffe. Hell, he "hurt" himself running to first on a groundout earlier in the game. The guy is obviously a drama queen.

I wasn't surprised that O'Sullivan came out yelling and defending his player. I would expect Cohen and any other coach to do the same thing if the shoe was on the other foot. But then he took it way past defending his player when he acted like a complete jackass after the game. That was uncalled for and as bush league as it gets. Anyway, I know all too well that it sucks to come up a game short but you certainly can't question the effort. I thought the entire team played every pitch like it was their last and definitely left it all on the field. I won't pretend that I was pulling for MSU because I wasn't but I can give credit where credit is due. Unreal run, just ran out of arms.

Did you really need to use a racial slur? If the guy is an awkward douche bag then call him an awkward douche bag. There really isn't a need to use the term "rag head."

from someone other than FL or State fans.

Mingione didn't intentionally trip him. If watched any NFL games this past year, you know this can cost you your job. That would be the dumbest thing anyone could do.

That being said, he has a past history of guys running into him. No other coach I know is known for this.....Only him. As another person here stated.....he acted like a b*tch @ the SEC tourney back in, I think, 07. Maybe 08. He also had virtually the exact same thing happen this year in Oxford with Miles Hamblin. If he didn't have a history of this type thing, it would have never been an issue.

The proper thing for him to do is immediately move towards the dugout and away from the trajectory of the ball. He didn't do this, and I don't think anyone can argue that. Now, there is no rule that says he has to move. But all sports have things that aren't necessarily rules, but are known to be the right do thing to do. Mingione didn't do the right thing.

Last, just as Mingione acted an *** on that play, Sullivan showed his *** with the whole "chomp" thing. Your team going to Omaha. Why the hell do you have anything to say to a team that is now going home? Shake his hand, or not, and go join your team. You just got all you wanted from a team that has 1/3 of the talent you have...at home. Stop acting like you just rolled their *** for two games. You are lucky to be advancing.

makes all his assistants untouchable as well but your post nails exactly what myself and the other few have tried to say.. His fault or not, it didn't need to happen because of his reputation.

*And if you try to pretend he doesn't have a reputation for doing bush league stuff then you don't follow SEC baseball at all. period.*

There are a number of season ticket holding pro-Cohen fans that aren't fans of Mingione. He's "been run into" a number of times, you can hear him calling "I got it" on popups (which is just pathetic **** for a SEC coach), he has been in at least 5-6 arguments with opposing players and coaches.....

Hey he is a great motivator and great coach from what I can see but if you love baseball as a sport, more than just "something MSU", then he's not a guy that will earn your respect.

talking about the past in relation to something that was obviously not intentional where you both say he broke no rules. I'm not saying the guy is untouchable. If he did something wrong it's fine to call him out on it. But as you both admit he did nothing wrong here and you are using this to stir up the past.

For me, I don't want a guy showing his *** but I want a team where we compete to the end instead of laying down. If that means we won't be sitting in a circle jerk with the UF baseball team at the end of the game so be it. We did nothing wrong here so shut the @!$# up.

never said otherwise. it's his bed so he at least should defend it. Cohen's attitude is why these players don't let much more talented players beat them up.

The point is.. if he didn't mean to be there he wouldn't have been standing there. Watch other baseball teams and see if a 1B coach walks TOWARD the play

of the way of the play... are they not supposed to do that?

but to say he intentionally tripped the raghead is a huge stretch...

17 you and your ignorance. Yeah i'm as heart broken as everyone else and i think Ramjit is a major drama queen, but all the racial slurs across the board today have been uncalled for.<div>

the extra roll he added onto the end of it like he was going downhill for extra effect. Sure, Mingione should have and could have gotten more out of the way (why was his eye on the ball and not on avoiding players going for it?), but a paraplegic using crutches could've avoided Mingione better and still gotten to that ball.

My ethnic heritage all I can say is mutt! Part American Indian, part scottirish, part French, and much to your delight significant southern redneck. This thread is not about race, if you and others can't see that then it goes a long way toward explaining the mess we find ourselves in as a republic. Go race bait somewhere else.

Neither one of us "admitted" he didn't do anything wrong. In fact, it was is just the opposite. What we said is he didn't break a written rule. And he didn't. However, there are unwritten rules in all sports, and Mingione regularly breaks a few of these. Im not sure what the guys background is, but if he wants to hang around a major conference school, or get a head job one day, he better get his sh*t together. You simply can't be as bush as he is.

I could give you numerous examples of his behavior.....three of which I have witnessed in person or ontelevision. I'm not sure where some people think anything anyone has said here relates to Cohen. Cohen defended his guys. That's exactly what he should have done. If Cohen is at fault for anything, it's for letting a guy let that on his staff. Just as Bianco is responsible for the Reinstetle and Mossberg hires, this is Dan's guy. Again, Im not blaming Cohen. I don't like him......I think the's a pompous prick. That being said, he defended his guy. And he had his team ready to play these last two days. There is something to be said for that.
