I think you know the answer to that. Because to some people Polk is bigger than MSU baseball. He has basically been allowed to do whatever he pleases. Plus, he has essentially named the last coaches we've had- McMahon and then himself.
Of course, this was with LT in charge, that's the biggest difference, but there is still some uncertainty with LT still running around and no one really knowing what Byrne will do, as this will likely be his first hire of any kind.
Another thing- one way or another, Raffo will probably be an albatross one way or the other during this process. I imagine that he will be retained in some capacity, not necessarily as a coach, but I'm thinking maybe as an administrator of some kind.
