Good for her. Being a top-ranked tennis player is an incredible grind. Ash sounds like she has her priorities in order and is ready to move on to other things. But tough for the sport of tennis which is losing one of its top stars.
Smart girl. Hopefully she has a good investment advisor who can take her winnings and make a nice nest egg. The only money she will mainly lose out on will be endorsements but maybe not. She can get on with her non-competitive life, maybe get a college education, etc. and enjoy life rather than be a slave to the grind of major sports competition.
Maybe Tom Brady should have consulted with the women's tennis version of us as well.

She sounds like she has her mind in the right place; very grateful for the fruits that the sport has given, but still ready to let it go, and to take on new challenges. She sounded very intelligent during her interview. I wish her the best of luck in her journey. Life is a special journey, nobody should ever be stuck in a rut. Good luck in the next phase(es).
They'll be more where that came from, too. Can easily see her getting into commentary or coaching or just about anything. Always well-spoken in interviews. Shame for the sport of tennis, but she'll be just fine.
I believe it says she has earned that amount of money. Not the same as net worth. I am quibbling because I would suspect het net worth is quite substantial.
For some reason people seem to confuse the difference between income and cash ( of well my finance background gets in the way).
