Revisiting Friday-Sat morning Severe weather possibility.

There are still signs for a severe weather event Friday through Sat morning. Hopefully it fizzles out into just thunderstorms but this an very strong trough and dewpoints will be high in front of the system. It actually could start near here and stretch all the way though to Alabama.

I'll update only if the signals keep trending toward a large event.

Some of the early hi res runs are potentially painting a concerning picture. I'm planning on initiating chase mode as soon as walk out the door from work Friday.

Tomorrow will help focus things probably but the models have been off this year either overdoing it or missing it completely. The dewpoints are going to be unusual for this time of year.

NW part of the state upgraded to an enhanced risk with possibility of strong tornadoes. If you live west of the Natchez Trace and north of 82 I'd take this system seriously tomorrow.

Main even could be well after dark or late afternoon. Could get some spotty showers before then, though.

www.pivotalweather.com is a good site to use. What he is showing above is CIPS model analog info of environmental conditions. Memphis early afternoon should be ok as far as severe weather goes. Will have some windy conditions and a few showers, but the atmosphere should still be capped preventing severe storm developement.

I joined that site but you can use it for free. I am hearing increasing chatter of strong nocturnal tornadoes which makes winter Mid South tornadoes even more dangerous.
