...what the hell was that pooch kick? That was the most ridiculous **** I've ever seen. Not the kick itself (well kinda, it went straight to the guy) but how the hell the guy just ran RIGHT by three defenders is what boggles me. All three of them just stood there as he ran right through them, not laying a finger on the guy. What a joke.

And what I noticed is that the triple option can be stopped. Cover the pitch man and force the quarterback to run inside where you have help. It's rather simple actually.

Yeah, that pooch kick was a lousy play. With that said, both teams had some really big plays and some really lousy plays.

Georgia Tech is going to be a handful for us, but I see some kinks in the armor.

But, my point is that it can be done. Last night was a good example. GT could have easily lost last night's game.

Teams are learning to defend them. I predict teams with speedy defense like Florida State and Miami are going to have more success against them than Clemson did.

They were on Ga. Tech.'s side of the field and a high short kick would have forced Ga. Tech to either fair catch or let the ball bounce and you achieved your goal of backing them deep on their side of the field. Instead, they fake a field goal to punt a rather low ball that looked like it was designed to hit the ground and roll. What good is this? Ga. Tech gave them a lesson on how to fake a field goal. Dabo may be a good recruiter (actually a very good recruiter) but his game day coaching leaves much to be desired.

Dabo said he should have made it more clear, but it was supposed to be kicked out of bounds. Not a bad play call if it is executed properly.

And as bad as he got outcoached in the first half, I'd say he more than held his own in the second half with some great halftime adjustments to give his team a chance to win against a Top 15 team on the road.

was to take away the dive. The ends of course had the QB, but the since the QB was like 1 for 11 somewehere late in the game it alowed Clemson to take more chances and they did not have any problems covering the pitch man. What I did not understand was late in the game they stayed with the dive. I know it was becuae the ends were already up field. When they started having success again was when they used the QB keeper kind of like a lead play. The QB just ran out of gas at the end.

of faking the field goal. The whole point of faking the field goal is so they don't have their return team out there to catch it. If you are going to kick it out of bounds anyway, then just line up in the punt formation and kick it out of bounds. That is the absolute dumbest thing I've ever heard in my life. What a dumbass coach.

fake the kick to get the first down. Otherwise, just let the punter loft one to pin them back deep. It was a poor play call that was made all the worse when Ga. Tech faked a field goal to score a td. Clemson needs to tear that page out of the playbook for good (fake field goal into punt).

Clemson's placekicker has a very strong leg. Kicked a 64 yarder in high school. To do that, though, you have to sometimes kick with a lower trajectory. He kicked a 53 yarder later in the game that would have probably been good from 60.

If you do that fake FG/pooch kick a couple of times and GT plays "FG safe" on defense, it gives your kicker a better chance to make the long field goal.

That's the only thing I can think of....

Dabo will take heat for a couple of bonehead decisions, including both fake field goals. Clemson's fake perplexes me as to why you would actually make that call. GT's fake was even worse, because it was incredibly obvious that it would be a fake. For a kicker who had never made a field goal over 40 yards and he lines up for a 57..... It's not rocket surgury here people.
