UGA gets commitment from Dylan Raiola, 5 star qb and #1 2024 recruit. Kirby is making it tough for teams not named Bama or Ohio State to close the recruiting gap with Georgia.

And the top ranked WR and #2 overall recruite in the 2024 class, 5* Jeremiah Smith is slated to visit UGA this week. They are predicted to flip him from OSU. Probably made more likely by the Raiola commit.

Some recruiting sites are saying Raiola is the "first domino to fall" and there are going to be a bunch more top recruits committing to Georgia. Kirby is only 47 yrs old. he can keep that machine running for a good while longer.

I think USC needs to set the sights on Tennessee. UT is getting better but they aren't running away from the field like Georgia is. Being a solid second in the SEC will be a good place to be for a while and who knows what could happen in a given season as far as getting into the SECCG.

The Ga roster currently has Vandagriff (5* So) and Stockton (4*, RS-FR).

Also coming in '24 is a 4*.

There may be some churn in their roster before '24 season.

This is my opinion too. Catching Georgia or Alabama is too much to expect or ask. We need to get to the top of the second tier. Then if you're at that level, a special season can happen every few years while being consistently competitive in the others.

Vandagriff nearly transferred this spring.

I don't think he's all that. He may be the classic private Christian school 5 star. They look incredible playing against small, slow, white boys but lose a lot when they have to face legit college talent. I won't be surprised if Arch Manning doesn't live up to his hype.

Georgia has been getting 5-star quarterbacks for a long time. Jacob Eason, JT Daniel etc. Vandergriff keeps riding the pine, and it looks like he is still behind Carson Beck.

but there's hope....now with a 12 team playoff you dont have to be the best team in the SEC to get a shot....I feel Beamer is on the right track in recruiting that could get us 1 of those 12 spots and then anything could happen....we might catch a break or 2 and find ourselves in the Natty

A shot at what? The gap between #s 1 and 2 in the country has typically been a yawning chasm in the. CFP era. The only reason for expansion is $$$. Nobody thinks a 12 seed is ever actually going to win.
