Although I consider Yes to be one of my favorite bands, I only ever saw them once (sans Jon Anderson), and that was a couple of years ago when they were playing most of "Fragile" and "Close to the Edge." It was an excellent show and Alan White was superb as always. He and Chris Squire were rattling the walls of the old Carnegie Library Music Hall in Homestead. He also did some drumming with John Lennon -- that's him on "Instant Karma" and "Imagine."

Thanks for the decades of fantastic music, Alan White.

This one, like Chris hurts. Alan joined the band just 3 days before Yes was kicking of the Close To The Edge Tour in '72 because Bill Bruford left the band. No problem bro, you have 72 hours to learn the first five albums. As much as I respect Bill, I actually preferred Alan's style of just pounding the skins, he was a beast! How many of us remember when John Bonham passed that Jimmy Page sought out Chris Squire and Alan for the next supergroup, XYZ. As Chris always claimed, one of the songs from the XYZ sessions ended up as a Firm song...lol. I met Alan in the lobby bar at the Taj Mahal after the Union Tour in '91 and he was the nicest man one could ever meet.
