I have been re-watching the series on Netflix recently. Maybe a few episodes each week. Still makes me laugh.

For whatever little I know about acting, he nailed that role in Seinfeld.

Also played one of the neighbors in Modern Family.

Did really outstanding, iconic work with Paul Thomas Anderson in Magnolia, Hard Eight, and Boogie Nights. RIP.

I often wondered how many takes those scenes with him on Seinfeld took. In the ones that made the cut Jerry was struggling mightily to maintain a straight face. They must have been really cracking up.
15 at least, perfect comedy…

That was one of the best scenes of the entire series. It was S3E5 which was before the show hit the top of the rankings. As a result many fans who came on board later don't remember it as well as other famous scenes. It was a rare scene in which Seinfeld didn't provide any of the comedy. Seinfeld the straight man. Who would have guessed??

I've been using the quote "you and your good-time buddies" since the premier of that episode.

In the commentary on the DVD, Jerry says how everyone on set just loved him and how funny he was.

35 years ago yesterday....Newman: "June 14th, 1987, we were enjoying a Mets win against the Phillies. When a key Hernandez error paved the way to a 4 run Phillies ninth, costing the Mets the game!"
That was a great bit.... made even more amusing by the fact that Wayne Knight was also in the Magic Bullet scene in Oliver Stone's JFK.
