5. Woody McCorvey, Mississippi State offensive coordinator: Excellent coach with strong credentials, but his age (57) will be a factor for some schools.
I guess from a pure resume standpoint WM's credentials are strong, but he's done little as a QB coach (my biggest beef) and even less as an OC while at State. The OC part might not be his fault completely because Croom does the grocery shopping (recruiting) and sets the menu (designs the offense), but you'd think a good OC would still be work within Croom's framework.

If McCorvey, at age 57 with an offense that has never done anything, can be listed at No. 5 in the country as far as available assistants, I wouldn't look for too many to be getting major head coaching jobs anytime soon.

And I know that I am ready for Woody to become a head coach. Today if possible. At a team we play would be just a wild dream.

person running the Minority Football Coaching Academies for the NCAA. The guy must never watch MSU...if he did, he'd know Harbison is better prospect that McCorvey.

Not only that, but I noticed McCorvey was listed ahead of Charlie Strong as well. That one especially caught me off guard.

If Woody were hired somewhere as a head coach, it would set back the Civil Rights Movement 200 years.

They like to see a lot of offense in that conference and don't care so much about the defense. Ron Cooper would make a better SWAC coach than Woody would.

with all the positive press you'd get for hiring a black coach, most schools would love to. there just aren't many good candidates. i think the man who is (or was recently) head of the BCA is the losingest coach in rhode island history. if you're going to argue for something, argue for assistant coaches.
