Even after 18 years of taking poundings, he was better last season than Neil O'Donnell was in his prime. He's taken me to the highest of highs and some very low lows.
I'll always appreciate his effort.

+1. I also think the Steelers WR's are overrated.I'm sure his game has declined but it was hard to tell with the terrible online and atrocious wide receiver play the last two years.
The best hands on the team belong to TE 88.+1. I also think the Steelers WR's are overrated.
they said that the steelers had the lowest time allowed before the defense got to ben. THat may have something to do with a less than awesome ben kind of year.I'm sure his game has declined but it was hard to tell with the terrible o-line and atrocious wide receiver play the last two years.

They need to address the offensive line in the draft first then go after someone the year after if they need to.
Just read somewhere that Ben's QB rating throwing to Freiermuth was much higher than the rest of his targets for 2021.The best hands on the team belong to TE 88.
Only 8! Qbs all time with 2 Super Bowls. Played in 3. 64k yards. He is in first ballot. Is he a 1st ballot HOF if Brady, Gronk, and Peterson all also retire this off season, There has never been 4 first time ballot HOF in a class. chances are low, but if Rodgers also retires, Ben may not be a first ballot HOF.
"The good news is the Steelers have plenty of salary cap space to fill some of those needs in free agency. They are set to have nearly $42 million in cap space and that could grow in the coming weeks as the Steelers make decisions on some veterans who have significant cap hits on the books in 2022."Steelers have so many "needs" that I'm expecting a good many dark years before Tomlin has the talent to make another SB run.
This was a bigger retirement today than Breyer, the way it should be.
I was a fan of neither. This was a bigger retirement today than Breyer, the way it should be.
Who cares.I was a fan of neither.

Did you grow up in a political family or did this come on with age? This was a bigger retirement today than Breyer, the way it should be.
Haven’t they always? To me, that’s more of a good thing than a bad thing.Man they got some long leashes up there in the 'burgh these days.

When asked in last weeks presser about the offensive play calling, he replied "when you have red paint, you paint the barn red".or giving him another year but the quote struck me as funny.

I wasn't sure who you were quoting and it sounded like some sort of classic line, so I looked it up and that's definitely an instant classic Tomlinism right there. Sometimes I think they should keep him just for his way with words.
Pretty harsh but I guess he has to try to address the offense's putrid performance somehow without talking full responsibility for it. I'm not joking when I tell you that I fell asleep during at least 4 Steelers games this year from sheer boredom. I was bummed I missed second half of the Titans game for instance.
One poster in that thread had some interesting stats, if they're true:

Last year Ben threw 33 tds and 10 picks in 15 games and was 12-3. His recievers lead the league in drops and fumbles. And they were just the 4th team ever to go to the playoffs with the 32nd ranked run game in ypc and ypg. Ben does that and people say it's trash but mahomes throws 37 and 13 in 17 games this year and he's an MVP candidate. And this year the run game was 29th in both, the recievers we're 3rd in drops and 2nd in fumbles. and the defense was 32 against the run and 20 in points."
I felt like the receivers got worse as the season went on in regards to the drops. Wow, the D was last in the league against the run. That is even worse than anything you could say about the offense. Whatever identity the Steelers had is gone.
