The B1G Network did a Rose Bowl preview which included an interview with Coach Franklin. The interviewer asked Franklin what he’ll be thinking when Sean Clifford takes the field. Franklin responded that Clifford had been there a long time and played in the first Rose Bowl in 1923. I laughed a bit and appreciated the non coach speak. Glad to hear a non robotic response, but was a little surprised to hear it. Happy New Year everyone!

This game matters to PSU superficially and for 2023. We score 5 TDS, they score 3TDs there will be 4 FGs. we win. Penn State needs to see 1) did Manny learn how to stop road grader running games from the UM drubbing. 2) will someone emerge at WR to stretch the field with #15, If so we then we are in a prime spot for 2023.
