Rugby scrum in short yardage

seeing more teams use the rugby scrum tactic in short yardage. it also is appearing when teams try to get away from their own goal line. I personally don't like that this is now legal, especially as refs are unsure when to blow these plays dead. However, if it is legal, it would seem like an approach we might take in these 3rd and short plays that turn into losses for us.

I’m with you, but I don’t understand why the QB doesn’t just fire the shotgun into the line. That would clear a hole.
