Saquon last night

I was not at game and do not see anything written about an injury to Saquon-game was over by fourth quarter so no need to play Saquon.. Eagles defensive line surely outplayed Giants OL-and the Giants WRs are great stories and show great effort but sure not at level of Eagles WRs. Curious how Giants handle offseason signings of Jones and Barkley. They HAVE to sign QB Jones-they have no other options (he had a fine year, better than expected) and with a better than expected season are drafting pretty low. Perhaps they give Jones a long term contract and Barkley is franchise tagged-as many teams are reluctant to give RBs long term deals. Giants have had salary cap issues. Amazing how some teams do much better than others with salary cap. In offseason Eagles sign Riddick who becomes All Pro LB, trade for AJ Brown, and then sign CB Bradberry who was cut by Giants in a salary cap move. All 3 players starred for Eagles as did some other signings on Ol. All teams miss on players but Giants were hurt by big money deal on WR Golladay who did nothing the past 2 years and hopefully will be released. Giants had a surprising season but Eagles played on a different level last night and sure will be tough to beat.
Agree with you that they have to sign Jones to a contract and will probably franchise Saquon. But from what I saw the Giants have 50 million in cap space which is in the top 10 of the league for sure. They could go after a couple big-name free agents.
ESPN reported this morning that Giants have over $25 million in cap space next year.
The Giants offense wasn't great last night, but their defense was terrible.
Saquon has remade his body into beast mode. He’s a Power back with good hands and speed. Even as an Eagles fan I still love him. He IMO was shown in pain several times on the sideline.

Bison13, LB99-hope you are right on giants cap space-depends also on who they release. Again, I hope they can release Golladay without it costing them much. Signing Jones will take a big chunk of cap space-Saquon definitely wants to return. This past summer they had to release players be-and one became 1 heck of a starting CB for Eagles-because of cap space issues!!

Saquon is a great back surrounded by mostly average talent in NY. If you switched sidelines for him last night, he’d have had 150 yards rushing.

He’s another James Bradberry waiting to happen. I think it’s very possible he leaves NY this off-season and lands in a far better situation.
It probably won’t be Philly. They may not resign Miles for cap reasons. But Barkley could be the next story of a player finding a better fit and going gangbusters in 2023.

I don't wish him any ill will. I just don't think he's as good of pro back as what Miles has become. To me it looks like SB wants to bounce everything for the big or 'splash' play while I think MS has learned to hit it up and there and take what you got, while turning 2-3 into 6-7.
I think the Eagles think they can get more than what MS gives them from Gainwell, so they may not resign him, unless he gives them a team friendly terms.
Yeah. Miles (and his mom) obviously wants to get paid. The interesting dynamic will be whether GMs see him as a top back to your point or the product of a dominant Philly OL and scheme.
Life is short. Miles should max out what he can earn. I’ve seen mock drafts that have Philly taking the Texas RB at #10. That would be interesting as folks say he’s the best back coming in since Saquon.
It’s contrary to how Howie values positions. My hunch is DL or CB at #10 unless a tackle who can replace Lane eventually is there.
I think Lane has to reduce his cap number to stay w the eagles ( I assume that's possible) otherwise I see them moving LM to Rt and resigning Dillard at a cheap deal to be the LT. I think Ike is gone as well, unless he really reduces his number. It would not surprise to see Big V come back a cheap number
with 2 first rounders, I am all for taking the kid from Texas in the first round.
You obviously haven’t watched Barkley too much this year. He doesn’t try to bounce everything and he hits the hole (when there is one). Barkley is far better than Miles, but Miles has a far better OLine and QB and WR’s.
I also saw him flexing his hip/thigh on the sidelines. I thought maybe hip/groin.
Yes as a pro and it’s not really even that close. When the Giants had just an average OLine this year (prior to all the injuries) Barkley was #1 in the league. Last year he reached 4,000 career yards from scrimmage faster than any other player and he missed a season and a half and that’s with a crap OLine. Yesterday all three of Philly’s RB’s looked really good, so are they all better than Barkley or maybe it’s just the OLine. Every defense keys on Barkley…that doesn’t happen to Sanders.

Agree @Ludd -- the Barkley wants to bounce everything is the lazy narrative from the last couple of years. Saquon rarely had holes this year and just hit it in there as hard as he could to push the pile. On those rare occasions when he got a hole, oh my ...
And many times he had to hesitate to find a hole (that wasn’t there) and then he’d get tackled for a loss and get accused of trying to bounce everything. I saw Miles do that a couple of times yesterday as well….sometimes a hole isn’t there to hit, so the RB has to do something and when you have a bad OLine, it happens often.
So is Sanders…and Parsons, and Dotson, and Godwin….they all played for Penn State remember.
Saquon would run for 2,000 yards in this Philly offense. He’d be sick.
Howie is not signing a second contract for a RB. That’s the sort of thing the gIants do.
Not that I'm a Giants fan....but I don't see how you say the Giants don't have other options at QB. I'm not saying the Giants should not sign Jones....but there is always free agency.....
Miles is a “better” back because he is running behind potentially the best O-line in the NFL. Dickerson, Johnson and Kelce are pro bowl players. Johnson and Kelce are HOF players.
The Giants O-line has improved, but is mediocre at best.
The Eagles are starting to remind me of the Oakland Raiders from 40 years ago - a thug team intent on intimidation at all costs.
Yes…the big question is would Sanders have put up the numbers Barkley has if he had been playing for the Giants? I think we all know the answer to that.
