Saturday is the last SEC on CBS game for the foreseeable future, for better or worse it's been one heck of a ride the last 20+ years.

So here's my attempt to identify what I think is each SEC school's top game/moment on CBS in that time:

Alabama: the beatdown of Florida in the 2009 SECCG, it really Kickstarted everything for the Saban dynasty.

Arkansas: McFadden leading the Razorbacks past LSU in 3OT in 2007, (shoulda got the heisman after that)

Auburn: Kick Six(2013) need I say more.

Florida: Urban's payback vs Georgia(2008)

Georgia: there's plenty to choose from the past few years. I will go back to 2007 though when they danced in the endzone after the 1st TD vs Florida in a game they went on to win 42-30.

Kentucky: taking down then #1 LSU in 2007.

LSU: Burrow and company outgun Tide in 2019.

Missouri: not a lot of options, so though it was a loss for them, the shootout with Auburn in the 2013 SECCG.

Mississippi St: taking down then #3 Florida in 2000.

Ole Miss: knocking off Alabama with college gameday in town in 2014.

South Carolina: October 9, 2010 down goes #1 defending natonal champion Alabama. Alshon Jeffery's one handed catch being the moment in that game. And for those who didn't know, down goes a 15 year losing streak on CBS that day too!

Tennessee: draining the swamp in 2001, won the SEC East that day, first win at Florida in 30 years.

Texas A&M: Johnny Football has his heisman moment vs the Tide in 2012.

Vanderbilt: upsets #15 Georgia 31-27 in 2013.

Even with the constant commercial breaks and games taking four and a half hours because of them annoyed me to no end, I will be sad to see it end. The theme music alone would get me hyped up regardless who was playing.

The SEC on CBS showcased the league and its passion to the rest of the country as nothing else has. I hate to see it go. I'm a little afraid to see it go, actually.

Regrettably, the SEC is playing the new NCAAFB game. The SEC is in the portal.

I would preferred CBS show night games instead of afternoon games. I am only one likely to say this on this forum but i liked Gary Danielson. He is always spot on.

There were occasional night games - when they did doubleheaders - but not many. The ESPN offerings on Saturday night were very good, though.

I liked Gary Danielson, too.
Despised his previous sidekick, Verne Lundquist (he was stealing his CBS salary).

Did they just get outbid or was it part of contract deal or what? Seems like they could have kept it or is it the SEC/ESPN deal?

The deal that the SEC signed to get the big money was with ESPN/ABC (Disney), which insisted on unconditional exclusivity.

Did not know that had happened. I really enjoyed SEC football with CBS on Saturday afternoons. It had become a tradition with me.

I could care less, really, about network / conference affiliations. The biggest thing I'm taking from this is not having to listen to Danielson anymore! There's no announcer - in any sport - that I dislike more!
