Locke should transfer to Baylor, Longo was a bad OC with no wr talent and line couldn’t pass block. Sapvital runs a really good offense. both Locke nod Sawyer would have been really good under Leach.

Locke was too young , Sawyer developed after a couple of years, mentally and physically. He’s a lot Bigger and stronger than he was here. He can run pretty well too, good mobility. leach liked to build depth and start 3rd and 4th year qbs one after the other.

Longo is OK, but Fickell was trying to build Wisconsin into something it is not. They are smash mouth all the way, always have been, that's the players they get. Longo is wide open Air Raid, was never a good fit.

If Fickell doesn't get his shlt together and realize the type of job he's at, he's gonna get canned.

That's just it.....Rogers was more mature, even though he didn't have the physical tools the other two had. Rogers was coached to the max coming out of high school, and never really got better. But he was steady, and honestly it's a tough spot for a coach many times. Use the guy who won't beat you, but also won't win you anything......or roll the dice on the talent, and take the lumps and hope for that awesome performance.

So many of us nowadays think that if kids aren't ready as freshmen, they are trash. It's not we have forgotten the whole history of college football, just because of the fake instant gratification the transfer portal has created. Players still must grow, mature and develop.

Your obsession with a QB who wasn't ready to be the starter at the time he was at State, but would probably be great for us now if Leach was still alive, is kinda odd to me. So, I asked what the connection is. If there's no answer, then it's more odd to me, but that's just me.

I don't have the slightest obsession with Will Rogers. I just appreciate what he did for my favorite team as a 4 year starter on some long gone good teams. If defending him occasionally against the haters is whining to you, so be it. I'd rather be a whiner than whatever these weekly threads are.

Since you edited and asked the question. I absolutely wish him well. I even said he'd likely be great for us if Leach was still here (which I definitely wish, for many reasons).

That’s because he wasn’t when they were both here. He wasn’t even as good as Will last year. He had a 112 passer rating while throwing for less than 1,000 yards at Baylor just last season, while Will somehow had a 130 passer rating in spite of being stuck in whatever the hell Barbay was running last season.

He’s progressed beyond that now, but hell, it took 3 years. And Locke isn’t very good.
