Reporter: Does it bother you that so many people around the country are rooting for you to fail?

LeBron: No. It doesn't bother me. Cause at the end of the day, when these people go to sleep, they're going to have to wake up. And they're still going to have all their personal problems. And I'm going to get to continue to do the things I want to do.

that you don't care what they think, it gets hard to believe.<div>I don't think LeBron wanted to be the bad guy, it just kind of happened.</div><div>I'm also glad I don't have people asking me questions after a horrible day at work.</div><div>
</div><div>Ooh, Cuban just dropped a "****" on live SportsCenter (and called out Miami's fans).</div>

Be LeFade was doing some serious clowning in the Heat locker room after the game.

P.S. Memo to LeGag- "hate" is reserved for athletes who talk **** & are ******** but can back it up. What we have for you is mockery & ridicule.

That's awesome. I love it. Embrace it Lebron.

He will eventually win a title, if not next year, the year after, and I hope he holds a parade for himself just to piss people off.

A rebel's favorite player is a player that runs his mouth but can't back it up? And chokes when the game is on the line?? get the 17 outta here..Surely not.

No, I like to see villains who embrace being a villain. Lebron needs to get that, just be the villain. He won't rebuild his image as the nice guy, so he might as well stomp on people and do everything he can to make the boos louder.

And I don't speak for anyone but myself. Don't get that confused.

ETA: Let me clarify how this works. I pull for the Grizzlies. They're my team for the NBA. If they get eliminated or aren't involved, I want to see the bad guys win so that as many other people are mad as possible. In this case, it's the Heat. The Heat will be involved late in the playoffs for years to come and will probably win a handful of titles. The Grizzlies may get there at some point, and if they do, I'll hate on the Heat. If the Grizzlies aren't there, I'll be pulling for the Heat, and I'll be pulling for them to act brash and do whatever they can to piss off the masses. That, to me, is the best part of sports, the hate. What would sports be without hate?

but this series has shown me that even the most hated villains can be redeemed. Ever since the Grizzlies came to Memphis and got stuck in the god awful Southwest division, I have despised San Antonio and Dallas. I couldn't stand Cuban, Dirk, or anything else about the team. However, this year's playoff run by Dallas has shown me that Dirk isn't just a good player that will put up 40 on your team every now and then. He's one of the best players to ever play the game and as a basketball fan, it's been extremely hard to not appreciate what he's done this postseason.

Sure, a big part of my rooting for Dallas was to watch the Heat flounder and eventually go down, but a bigger part of it was simply wanting Dirk to get a ring. That guy is incredible and while I've hated him for a decade, I'll now root for the guy throughout the remainder of his career as long as he isn't playing the Grizz.

So my point is, LeBron also clearly has the talent to make fans like myself appreciate his game again, but he's going to have to step up big time before that's going to happen. If he wants to be hated, though, that's fine with me too.

That's the thing for me. I watched him in the Boston and Chicago series, and in both he was a clutch killer. That's one of the big reasons I was excited about the Dallas-Miami final. Dirk and Lebron were both playing at their peak, and I figured you'd see an epic battle.

In the 4th quarter, in a tight game, or when closing out the series, Lebron was the one to drive home the dagger. He had Wade by his side, but he put the dagger in both Boston and Chicago, and he was doing it on both ends of the floor, whether it was shutting down Rose, getting the big block, the big steal, the big 3, big dunk, whatever. He was closing them out the way you would expect a great player to do.

For whatever reason, whether it was something Dallas did or some personal issues as was rumored or just choking on the big stage, he disappeared late in the finals. I didn't really follow the Heat all that much this year and really only picked up on them after the Grizz went out mainly because I wanted to see the team everyone hated most win it all, but what I did watch of them, Lebron was showing flashes of greatness. That disappeared a couple weeks ago when they started this series.

I've always thought Lebron had everything but that killer instinct. He really showed the killer instince finally in the previous two series but then lost it on the biggest stage of them all.

If people were rooting for me to fail, i'd be a dick to them also. I like Lebron and he is an unbelieveable talent. Of course, he handled things wrong in leaving Cleveland and he's gotta deal with that.

It doesn't make him wrong for not liking 17ers who talk **** to and about him.

Jordan was 28 when he won and went to his first NBA final. Lebron is 26.

For the record, i think Jordan is the best to ever play, but Lebron has the potential to be better.

He seems to forget that a lot of people are rooting against him mainly because of the hugeproclamationsthat he made as soon as he went to Miami. i know there are people (mainly Cavs fans) that are bitter simply because the fact he left, but what got me more disgusted was how he basically said the NBA would become easy when they touch the court. He basically said that the rest of the league wouldn't be **** looking for a quick out. Not once has he apologized for making such outlandish statements. The closest thing he said that looking back he would have done and/or said some things differently but he doesn't regret his decision, but he's missing the fact that not only did he take the easy way out, but he even said that no one else would be able to compete... Ever... Again...for me... that's the big deal. If he can't understand why a lot of people strongly dislike him then hopefully he can figure it out when he's finished in the league without a ring.

Itry to stay away from theMJ/LBJ argument, mainly because my huge man-crush on MJ doesn't allow me to see clearly in the argument.

Two things:
Jordan was 28 when he won his first NBA championship, while Lebron is only 26. However, MJ also won in his 7th season....Lebron just finished his 8th season. He still has a long way to go in his career, butthe age comparison is skewed by the age when they both entered into the league. Jordan never lost in theFinals, Lebron is now 0-2. Granted,he was severaly overmatched against Detroit, but the fact remains.

Also, Lebron doeshave thenatural born athletic ability/physical size to be better than MJ, but he has yet to show the mental drive/toughness that it takes to be better. MJ worked his *** off to be the best ever.Listening to Lebron's postgame interview last night confirmed it to me that he may never understand what it takes toREALLY be the best. Go back and listen to MJ's postgame quotes after they were beat in the94-95 playoffs by the Magic (not sure if it is available,it just came back to my memory last night). He didnt have much to say other than- he will be back, he will work harder than ever to be readyfor next year andhis performance was unacceptable thisyear, but that will not be the case next year. And I think we all knowwhat happened after that. I guess we will see if Lebron does that next year, but nothing he said in his interview made me think that he has the drive to learn from their loss and his being anon factor in the series. Until I seeLBJ feel the pain from losing, I dont think he willever possesswhat it takes to truly be the best.
