I don’t give a rip what he did or didn’t do here at this point. Speaking as a father, it was objectively a cool thing to see his reaction of pure joy when his son came in at QB against FSU.
As a Father of two sons, I totally agree with your post. I still think Muschamp was pretty much a disaster here though.I don’t give a rip what he did or didn’t do here at this point. Think about it: Gamecock football's only success has been with Head Coaches who were considered strong "X's and O's" coaches (but only fair to middling recruiters).Muschamp wouldn’t have come off as so terrible if he hadn’t followed Spurrier. We hired the complete opposite coach. Now we get to watch peer programs like UT, Ole Miss and Mizzou enjoy their Spurrier type coaches. It’s just easier to get behind a coach with personality, who is aggressive by nature, etc.
Potentially. He needs the right coaches around him. I think getting back to consistent bowl games is the first step. Raise the floor of the program. Get a few big upsets (he has 2-3 already) and momentum will build.Think about it: Gamecock football's only success has been with Head Coaches who were considered strong "X's and O's" coaches (but only fair to middling recruiters).
South Carolina will never be able to ever consistently out-recruit Georgia, Alabama, Florida, Texas, etc. Our ONLY chance for success is to have a Head Coach who "can do more with less". Does that describe Shane Beamer?
Oh, and learn from mistakes.Potentially. He needs the right coaches around him. I think getting back to consistent bowl games is the first step. Raise the floor of the program. Get a few big upsets (he has 2-3 already) and momentum will build.
