Good for all involved! Does this compete with what Sucess with Honor is trying to accomplish?
I am assuming he is not the funding company (i.e. what SWH is doing). His plan looks more like an advisory service, but that is something that requires an array of professional skills. There is a need for this, as too many of these players think that when they get NIL it is just going to be a bucket of money that comes to them without any obligations - i.e. some of them are going to have significant tax liability - and since they are like a vendor they will need to be handling taxes on a recurring basis.

I think it's great. The point of college is to set yourself up for a career. Lets see if he can win the starting job before worrying about his play.
He has already won the starting job. He has started for three years and has had some success. People are kidding themselves if they think he was told you can come back for a 6th year, but there is no guarantee you are the starter. If you think, Sean wont be the starter in Game 1 at Purdue you are crazy. The competition is for the backup.

He didn't start up a business employing 5 people while signing other athletes until recently, nevermind the conflicts of interest that may occur with having a teammate being a client and his brother involved. Many moving parts there. Maybe I'm crazy, but think about it deeper.

Can he get his brother better NIL deals by throwing him the ball more than other players?

Way too many questions.

We just define success differently.

Clifford has arguably been inconsistent at best in his career.

Good for him starting this little school project with his buddies and brother - but doesn't it seem like a bit of a distraction from the fact that he's 11-11 in his last two seasons? I'll be interested to see how this initiative grows but it feels like something he's doing to avoid the rent-a-car route after his eligibility runs out. If anyone watched his IG LIVE last night, curious to know your thoughts? Doesn't seem like something I'd sign my kid up for, would probably just stick to the SWH group or hire a true professional agent.

I wish him 100% success in all areas. It won’t shock me if we find out he’s a massive winner in business or whatever he chooses. He’s personable, he seems entrepreneurial, etc.

I just think he’s a product of JF having no idea how to manage the QB position in a recruiting era that has progressed 100 years in 2. It’s not SC problem he can’t play QB in the B10, he is what he is. It’s a JF problem that he can’t either develop a guy or bring in a guy better.

I would take the SC before he got hurt. He was never the same.
Would you though? What about the first 5 games of 2020? Or the final 5 of 2019? He was really bad at times in his career. Also, wasn't he healthy in the bowl game? That was one of the worst QB performances we've seen at PSU.

I don't mean to turn this into a bench Clifford debate - more so feel like all his NIL ambitions seem forced and distracting from a guy that has been pretty disappointing for a majority of his career. Reportedly, Cliff made ~100k last year via NIL which is definitely way more than he'll make at an entry-level Communications job. He has no professional football career ahead of him. Of course he's going to hang around for a 6th year and collect NIL. If he loses at Purdue to open the season and looks bad doing it, and Veilleux/Allar take the reigns, Clifford's NIL ambitions fall apart completely.

Fair statement.

Good for Sean and his career as he moves on from college after this year. I'm happy to see a PSU player do something like this. It shows initiative, leadership, and vision: all things that reflect well on our university. I wish his agency success and hope that his proximity to the PSU program will only help further spur the efforts of those around the PSU program in keeping up with the NIL joneses.

Do we have any updates on the Success With Honor collective? They did something like $50,000 in a day; but to compete nationally, they're gonna have to keep doing it. For perspective, $50,000 is what one of the Texas collectives (there are three) will pay each OL - per year.

Wait until the 5 star big time QB sees the bumbling for a few weeks and people get in his ear about leaving.

It takes a special kid in 2022 to see his position being average at best, not getting in to play, and patiently waiting. This isn’t Bryce Young waiting out Heisman winners and first round picks.

This is disappointing. I would rather haven seen some headline such as "Clifford works hard all winter to improve his game" or "Clifford is not satisfied and works to improve his game... Wants NFL to be his future" etc. etc. I have said it numerous times and continue to receive flack, but it is time for Clifford to move on with his life's work. This new initiative is nothing more than a distraction to the team, himself, and his already dismal performance over the past couple of years. I'd like to see Clifford either work to be a better QB or end his career and move forward as a leader in the NIL business. I'd rather lose 5 games with a freshman QB so they can gain some experience than lose 5 games with a 32 year old who has lost focused on winning and has a higher focus on his personal business.

Why do I feel like we are in for another loooooooooong season....

I say the 5-star, big-time QB enters the portal after the pu game.

I couldn’t agree more and this just shows even more that he should’ve moved on or encouraged to move on. We know what we’re getting. 3 and outs , punt, 8-4 record at best

I’m happy for Sean. This all makes so much sense for him. At first, I couldn’t understand why a 6th year guy would want to stick around; but now, it seems pretty obvious why he would. Nobody can fault Sean for NIL (he didn’t create it); so why should anyone be upset with a guy taking advantage of the system. It sounds pretty smart and entrepreneurial to me.

Clearly he feels he has no future in playing football at the professional level. He should not be handed the starting job.

I think people are rather skeptical that he can dedicate time to football while running a business.

Remember how you were in college? Remember how you thought you had the world by the balls? Remember how nobody could tell you anything? If SC is anything like me when I was in college, this isn’t going to be pretty.

Come on. This is likely going to help facilitate what so many folks have asked for after a few games, SC not as starting QB.

You have to give Sean credit, he’s preparing for the future. Sean realizes that his football career is fleeting, so he’s using his knowledge and contacts to prepare for the future. He’s similar to Adam Brenneman. I know that many fans are very concerned about this upcoming season and Sean’s concentration on football this year; and I certainly understand that sentiment, and furthermore, I feel that it’s safe to say that his attention on football will be divided. This is real life were talking about, Sean’s real life, not your life, and not my life. But do I blame Sean for this attention to NIL? Do I think Sean should spend 100% of his energies on football? HELL NO, it’s really not my (or anyone else's) call.

I think he’s smart in what he’s doing. He’s pursuing this NIL thing as well, and as far, as he can. Most people, include myself, cannot even fathom how someone can monetize this NIL situation. But I’m sure Sean (and others) has (have) some specific ideas, and that’s great for them. I respect Sean, as a player, and as an entrepreneur. I would be doing similarly, if I were him. Kudos to this kid, and to guys like Adam Brenneman, and to all others, that are smart enough to place football and life into their proper perspectives.

If Clifford doesn’t make least 2nd team All-B1G, he’s going to get as much criticism as any PSU player ever.
