It appears Florida sold the floor seats of the student section as GA and moved the students out since they were out of school. Students were moved up top.

Was this a mid season surprise or was this an announced shift to start league play?

From what I'm reading, this was normal for UF games when school is out...but they usually don't play the #1 team in the nation in early January.

The really bad look was that some students went ahead and took their usual floor seats and had to be escorted out by security. Other students got turned away at the gate due to the reduced seating. And then there were empty seats in the upper bowl.

Bad communication, if nothing else.

As long as the students know up front (and they probably did) I don't have an issue with it. The Hump on Wed was near capacity, except for the upper deck student sections, they were almost complete empty. I'd rather had fans in those seats.

I mean that’s a jab at us too. Especially since Striklin, an alumnus and for former AD, gets embarrassed by the use of it
No doubt. I still find it humorous. I guess I am so a custom to folks taking a jab at Starkville, that I just take it for certain and smirk about it. Whatever.

Further, if Loafers is embarrassed by the name of the town that took a male cheerleader (not that there is anything wrong with that) out of Jackson Prep and made him an Athletic Director at one of the top athletic programs in the SEC / country, that is on him.

The parents of one of the bananas lives here. The banana came into the store last week because he was still on break and talking about how glad that one game was USCe instead of anything big.

I'd almost say most of the nonconference schedule should be GA. If there's anything that the athletic dept wanted to reserve for players parents, that's fine, but no other seat should be reserved on those games.

Didn't one of the Bananas get arrested last year for storming the court too early?

A little extreme, give him a ticket and good talking to and be done with it.

Wasn't he the one that moved our students in the Hump?
Also, they killed Tenn. He might be on to something. ***
Yes I feel like Stricklin was responsible for what happened to the hump. Moved the students and hired Rick Ray. Cohen at least made a good move with Jan's before he left. I would just like to get the students back to where they were in the hump. Maybe Selmon can at least do that. He also be sign Jan's to a deal he can't turn down or leave from

Why would he be embarrassed by Starksville?

They did this at Duke during Christmas break about 15 years ago. I sat mid-court in the Cameron Crazy floor seats at Cameron for Duke vs Albany.

Pissed off the students, they moved some under the basket with the grad students. Dawkins and Wojo had to come over and talked to some.

I get the idea to sell seats at the beginning of winter break for a meaningless OOC game when most kids are out of town, but seems really short sided to do it the week students are coming back for a conference game against a team in Tennessee you knew would be ranked.

That is embarrassing. I’m embarrassed that he was ever associated with us. He should be banned from Starkville.
