STEP was implemented for football in 2013. I’m hearing that it’s coming to wrestling for 2022-23. STEP caused a major uproar among a certain portion of long time FB fans (those who had great seats, but, did not financially support athletics beyond their ticket cost). If implemented, STEP will mix master REC Hall seating and alienate a good number of faithful older fans who have held tickets going back to the Lorenzo days. It will also delight certain faithful NLC members who have donated over the years.

I have yet to see a great idea for all with the word "equity" involved. It almost always flies in the face of it's own existence, it seems.

I love all sorts of other ideas regarding representation and outreach, but the "e" word sticks in my craw after 5 years in education.

I can't imagine that there are enough "Premium" seats to make this a worthwhile venture, but as I have always said if there is a way for Penn State to alienate their customer base they will try to do it.
Agree. Rec Hall isn't a 107,000 seat stadium. The first row on the east side is almost as close to the mat at the last row on the north and south sides. And it's also a bit different considering wrestling action takes place in a 42' diameter circle as opposed to a 300' x 160' rectangle, not including end zones. If STEP happens in wrestling, their definition of premium will be interesting.

They should just charge what they feel are significant PSL’s to raise $. They do need the money (wrestling always operates in the red). Those seats aren’t a birthright. Like PSU football tix, the WR tix are the best deal in town. Other schools probably charge way more. Big time sports costs big time money.

We need a new facility. Waiting to get into the Indiana match, it is stunning how dated the place is.....essentially the same since I graduated in 84......1884.

That said, the current admin would screw up a wet dream somehow and alienate long time supporters. Hopefully these jackasses won't make big decisions on their way out the door. If we are canning the Nittany Lion Inn, put a new competition facility there for the sports using Rec today and turn the Rec space into a modern athletic facility with better offices, training facilities. locker rooms etc. Overhead walk ways connecting the facilities and underground walkways for the athletes.
