...from 11.7 to 14. Now the NCAA has to approve. Still a long way from done.

I think the right way to frame the debate would be with the race card. There aren't many blacks in baseball. How many players are on a roster? Is roughly half the team paying its own way? And we wonder why there aren't many blacks in baseball.

I have often thought that as soon as Ron Polk retired from baseball or died, (Sorry to be so morbid) that the NCAA would finally start giving baseball its fair shake.

If this is approved, it's still not what I would consider "it's fair shake" but it is a step in the right direction.

The NCAA is asking baseball coaches to limit their roster, graduate whatever percentage even though a lot of their players aren't getting a full scholarship, and not allow them to transfer if they aren't getting playing time even though a lot of them aren't paying their way. There has to be some give and take somewhere.
