I have to say with 13 teams in tourney our conference has been below average so far. I do think 3 maybe 4 teams make the CWS.

ACC > SEC this tournament, so far.

The sec has lost every matchup with the acc so far in this tournament. Louisville, Duke at sec venues are in championship games. Then you have Miami in Hattiesburg.

OM plays GT today and Auburn could match up with NcSt later.

So far looking like SEC was overrated. Which should have been obvious. No conference is ever as dominant as the hallowed computer rankings said the SEC is. That said, a few of these teams will come through the losers bracket to win.

I hate to say it but one SEC team looking pretty good to come out of losers bracket to win is Mississippi. If they beat GA Tech they only need to beat a #4 seed twice.

As bad as I hate to say it PD, I agree. I'll take it one step further, I think they'll do it. I hope GT or Murray States makes me eat those words.

The SEC has underperformed, but the SEC teams should have more pitching depth for Sunday/Monday than their opponents. Ole Miss & Georgia are both dangerous at home when these scores start resembling church league softball games.

I mean this might be fairly premature. First off, it’s baseball, and its not unusual for good teams to lose to lesser teams a time or two in one weekend. Secondly, you still have 9-10 SEC teams advancing to the round of 32. Fairly certain that is far and away the most of any league. We will see how many reach the supers, but I’d bet its still 6 or 7. The league still deserved every bit of what it got as far as hosts and seeding.

Kentucky was up 5 going into the bottom of the 8th, and were down 1 in the top of the 9th. Woops.

Supers by Conference:

ACC: 5 (Miami, FSU, Louisville, UNC, Duke)
American: 1 (UTSA)
Big Ten: 1 (UCLA)
Big 12: 2 (Arizona, West Virginia)
Independent: 1 (Oregon State)
MVC: 1 (Murray State)
SEC: 4 (Auburn, Arkansas, LSU, Tennessee)
Sun Belt: 1 (Coastal Carolina)

The ACC got over half their bids to the Supers.
The SEC got less than a third.
The Big 12 and Big Ten got a fourth through.
Missouri Valley is batting 1.000.

The ACC and SEC are both guaranteed one CWS spot apiece (from Miami vs Louisville and Tenn vs Arkansas).
