Patrick Beverly of Arkansas has been kicked off the team. Some rumors that he was caught paying people to write papers for him for a third time. Others just say academic issues. Word is he will go to Europe. Big loss for Ark and huge help to MSU and OM who should be picked 1 2 or 2 1 in the West this year.

As much as I love talking about how much our football team is gonna suck, all this scrimmage news really just makes me more excited about basketball season (which by the way is one of two sports that MSU has a chance of prolonged success in). I'm ready to see how the West plays out in bball. It has the potential to be even crazier than the west in football. Also i really like that Upig lost Beverly...couldnt have happened to a nicer bunch. I was always pretty indifferent towards Upig until the SEC tourney two years ago. It's very enlightening to hear people from ARKANSAS talk **** about MS in between WOO PIG chants. As much as I am not a fan of Ole Miss....I will be pulling for them anytime they play against Ark from now on. For Ole Miss/BAMA games i will still pull for the officials.

Im not high on Gottfried, but don't they return Hendrix, Steele, and Gee? I don't expect them to be a top 25 team, but they'll be decent.

If I had to make a August 11th West prediction, it would be:

1. Bama
2. State/UM
3. State/UM
4. LSU
5. Auburn
6. Arkansas

playing NBA summer league. I know Steele went to the same camp that Charles Rhodes went to in Orlando I believe. Dont know if he signed with an agent. I do think Gee is still there though.

Hendrix is gone. Gee is gone. Steele has yet to play after sitting the year out and they had two players quit the team, one was actually meaningful (sound familiar) and I think I heard where one of their top recruits has now decommitted. As much as I hate Gottfried, he and Stans have similar off court issues every year.
