Crazy that both OM and MSU didn't even make the SEC tourny. That's the past 2 CWS winners.
WTF is going on with Wingo at 3rd with the decisions to send runners? I know he ended up safe, but that throw beat him by 3 steps. We got very lucky there. But it just seems like we've had way too many opportunities spoiled by bad baserunning decisions.
Getting to face Georgia in game 1 is the equivalent of a bye. Georgia's baseball team is abysmal.
Good win. Pitching was great. Hitting was good, especially in a place where you're not going to hit a lot HRs.
Yeah, it's hard to tell, but it was the first all-around complete game we've played in weeks, even against the likes of N. Florida or Charlotte. This is about how we performed against UGA when we were playing well early in the season. Could be a game that allowed us to get straight, or it could just be a mirage of success.
Good news, or bad news, is that we don't have to wait long to find out.
Hopefully the bats are back. If so, tournament pitching is our next problem. Somebody will have to step up in addition to Hicks (a la Michael Roth) !
