Sounds like ESPN finally got the money right.

Glad to see it, although it was definitely inevitable.

No Alabama No Alabama No Alabama No Alabama No Alabama No Alabama No Alabama No Alabama No Alabama No Alabama
Alabama will get Auburn and Tennessee as two of their permanents. The third permanent will be one of the traditionally weaker opponents maybe it will be Vandy.

I’m surprised this wasn’t part of a deal that included CFP expansion to 16+ teams.

Maybe it is just not publicly yet.

Otherwise, it just got harder for SEC teams to make the CFP.

Oh I’m sure we will keep OM…. But i put the chances of Bama and Georgia as high****
Alabama is locked into Tennessee and Auburn and the networks will probably insist on LSU as their 3rd.

Georgia is definitely getting Florida and Auburn. I would bet on South Carolina as their 3rd. We aren't even on their radar.

We might get Auburn instead of Texas A&M but Jimbo Fisher let it slip a few years ago that A&M would get LSU, Texas, and us.

When you actually chart out who all 16 teams want, nobody really wants us other than Ole Miss.

Our perm opponents: UGA, UT Austin, OM

OM's perm opponents: Vandy, Ark (or UK), us.
Georgia doesn't want us. They have "less prestigious" program right next door in South Carolina, and they're a solid lock for Florida and Auburn as their other 2. If South Carolina doesn't work for whatever reason, there's always Vanderbilt or Kentucky.

Basically a 0% chance that Georgia is one of our 3.

My bet for us: A&M UM, and Bama.
Alabama doesn't want us. There's a 100% chance they get Auburn and Tennessee, and if LSU doesn't work out for whatever reason, the networks will want to match them with another big name like Texas or Oklahoma.

I won't say it's a 0% chance like Georgia because there's at least some history there, but it's unlikely

They are keeping the P4 non-conference game requirement as well.
Good tp hear. That was my concern while they've been kicking it around. Keeps things more national and interesting for me. Guess it helped square things up with those that have the ACC games.

I will say I'm going to miss the righteous indignation and whining from those that play nine. What ever will they complain about now?**

If we got stuck with UT Austin (I wouldn't be surpassed if they dominate CFB over the next few years), I wouldn't be upset if they offer that with Vandy.

LSU vs Bama is a big time game. If ESPN has any say that rivalry will go on too......Somehow

silver lining: Ole Miss is unlikely to ever have a path to the CFP as easy as 2024 and 2025.

What a historic **** up 2024 was for them. If they hadn’t lost to Kentucky, they could be defending national champs right now.

If they don’t make it this year, they may have to wait until the CFP expands to make it.

I'm ok with OM and UK. However I hate playing aTm. It's not an interesting game ever, at least to me.

State v Bama is one of the longest running "rivalry" in conference history. We should play them.

Even if we don't, the sec will give us UGA or Texas or Florida. So may as well play Bama.

We’ve beaten A&M a fair amount and gotten skill drug by Bama. I know on paper A&M is a sleeping giant, but I also hope their culture is too 17ed up to ever pull it together
