Stupid to show highlights of the previous year unless it was a tremendously special highlight.
Replay some games from the 70’, 80’s and 90’s
It’s almost like they are too lazy to even go back and research a game from 3-5 years ago.

The one thing the big rust belt network has on the sec in their programing that I’ve noticed, they show **** in prime time that people will actually watch.

And if that means 26 hours of football replays, you get 26 hours of football replays.

They used to do that, but you can only watch the 6-3 game so many times.

The game against Illini last year was good to watch again.
The didn’t exactly light it up offensively though.
Defense played very well however.

Is it required by the SEC that all the games have to come from last year or is that a university decision? I would much prefer to see classic games, no matter the sport. Some early 2000s men’s basketball or late 90s football games. Those are the ones I’d really want to watch.

I wonder if it has to do with who has broadcast/rebroadcast rights to the games?

Surely there must be more to this than a confinement to last year due to laziness.

ESPN does not have forever rights to rebroadcast. so there is your answer. Live and 1 year is what I believe they own.

If that’s true, then how does ESPN Classic exist?
ETA: I’m an idiot. ESPN Classic no longer exists. It ended at the end of 2021.
