Biting but accurate all the way down the line. Got to admire the eviscerating honesty. The SEC sucks bad. The decline of Saban came at least two years too soon.

Should have retired after winning it all in 2020.

As it turns out. Then they would be one coach into their process of elimination of finding the next generational one. Sometimes, the legacy teams have to go through several.

I thought Urban Meyer would step right in without missing a beat. Yes or No?

Miami came close awhile back when they had Schnellenberger, Jimmy Johnson, and Erickson back to back. After them, Butch Davis and Coker were pretty good as well. But that much uninterrupted good coaching is extremely rare.

And that is different from the majority of the last 131 years how exactly?
I’m sure we used to feel the same way in woman’s bb until we got “the coach”. Baseball too until “the right coaches”.
All these years of WBB success won’t make us win when Staley is gone. All the years of losing ain’t making this football team lose

Actually we didn't with baseball. We have never expected to lose in baseball.

Also, I never said it's making us lose. Simply pointing out that we never actually were a "new" Carolina, as you seem to think we were.

I agree 100%. Folks were saying new Carolina when Spurrier was here and I didn’t buy it!

He was just too old by the time we got him. He "expired" too early.
More specifically, his recruiting ''fun meter'' expired - he could still be calling plays and running a successful offense today if he didn't have to recruit.

The history of success, not being sustainable, boils down to bad luck and bad decisions. Carlin brings em up,but can’t get along or others can’t and hes gone. Joe brings em up and hes gone. Lou and Spurrier are as you described. Were those two good decisions? Im not so sure

I think they were. But their shelf life was short. Lou was done once Petty graduated and he tried to reinstitute the old ND offense as with Tony Rice. Had he left it with Skip, he might not have flamed out like he did. But we greatly benefitted from both regimes, however ephemeral they were.
