Hey everyone,

Long story short, our family used to go up for games twice each season. But as the kids got older and got involved their own sports, our weekends got too packed to make game trips. I haven't been up there for a game now in almost 10 years!

But our oldest just started his freshman year and we are going up for the Ohio game this weekend. I got tickets via PSU and then went to get a parking pass. I am totally confused by the process. The PSU site wasn't even offering Ohio parking passes -- I suppose because it's too late, since they actually send you hard copies in the mail? All of this was news to me. I did find a pass for sale on StubHub but I have no idea if it's going to get here in time.

Just so I know going into this, if I can't secure a hard-copy pass by the weekend, am I totally out of luck? Is there really no way to pay when you get there?

Also, anything else I need to know ahead of the new PSU gameday experience would be appreciated. I feel like a tailgating rookie again. Just want to have a nice day with the whole family up there. Thanks in advance, everyone.

I usually buy a ticket using Craigslist or Facebook Marketplace from someone local so that I can meet them to make the transaction. No additional fees or mailing involved. Make sure you know where each parking lot is located and how to enter that specific, so study the map at the link below. Some lots have steep hills making tailgating awkward while others are relatively flat. You should also consider grass vs hard surface.

Used to be able to go to ticket office an purchase parking. Not sure if that option is still available. Worth a call, your son could go over to BJC and pick one up for you if it is an option.

If you come in from the airport past Toftrees you will see a truckload of black guys who somehow have managed to get dozens of parking passes…and tickets! Have no idea how much you will have to pay..

If you send @Tom McAndrew a message with your address and ask him to pass it along to me, I can mail you out a parking pass tomorrow (coming from South Jersey) that I assume would make it in time. I have a pass I won’t be using and no sense in it going to waste.

Since it’s probably too late for the Craigslist option, I just buy from a scalper on my way in (see Bkmnittany1s post) but you shouldn’t offer more than $25 to $30 in my opinion. They’ll come down in price if you drive away - perhaps take a lap through town to find them or they’re all over the exit ramps. Lots 37 and 38 are nice level lots but far out. They’re on the East entrance by 322. I don’t mind the walk as you get easy in/easy exit. Team comes in 2 hours before game time (usually 1.45). Have fun.

Stub hub mails them next day air. So as long as you order today you will have it in time. If not there are plenty of scalpers selling them going in and out of the game. Another option is to park remotely and take the CATA game day shuttle.

Lot 36 is a cash lot. Get there PLENTY early and you shouldn't have trouble with a game like Ohio. Scalpers along the road are last resort for me.

You buy locally from Craigslist so you don't have to use mail. Make an offer, hop in your car and meet at a nearby location to make the purchase. Since I know several people in State College I usually look for tickets there as well as local and ask them to pick up for me.
