What an ambassador for our program. Give him the damn key to the city! Tried explaining to my wife that I’ve never met him, but he feels like a nephew or something. She just looked at me weird. 😕
I admit, I thought he’d ride in here, play the hired gun role, and ride out never looking back. But that dude bought in. He became one of us and gave us his all. I believe he was and is proud to be a Gamecock, and when he has his little intro blip on a Monday Night game one day, he’ll proudly say, “University of South Carolina”.

A lot of these guys don't get it. If you're getting paid, that means you're a professional. Act like one. Rattler definitely got it. He is one of the better examples of the upside of NIL.

No doubt he matured a lot from his experiences at Ok. Reports state he did have that attitude when he arrived at Ok. but his experience there matured him and benefited us. So much of the success of a drafted player depends on where they end up. What the roster looks like. How much the existing qb's are being paid, the type offense and how it fits your style of play. What talent level the receivers are. Who the coaches are. Just hope Spencer ends up at a place where he gets the best opportunity to play. Again as I posted earlier, I shudder to think what our program would have been like the last two years if Coach Beamer had not pulled this guy in from Ok.
