I think Philadelphia should win 28-14, 28-17, 31-21, thereabouts. Purdy is a great story, but “Mr. Irrelevant wins the Super Bowl” just doesn’t happen.

I actually think Eagles beat them by more. 42-21 or 42-17 something like that
Break down each position on O, Eagles are better
Wr- Eagles
OL- Eagles
TE-Eagles at worse a push
RB-Eagles
QB- Eagles by a bunch

Keep in mind that I rarely make predictions. (I'm a mathematician; I need to be sure about everything.)

I'd say SF is better @ TE and possibly RB.

Both games should be great. The current spread for the Eagles vs. 49's game is Eagles -2.5pts. The rumor mill now says Jimmy Garoppolo will play if necessary.

Kiddle is just a media creation
Exactly. If the media would just stop showing all the games, where Kittle consistently outplays Goedert, and the media would just stop showing all the statistics and analyses, which show Kittle is better than Goedert, then we could try to convince people that Goedert is actually better, despite being worse. Friggin' media.

Purdy ain't gonna have time to get the ball to Kittle. He will have a nice view of the Philly sky from being on his back so much.

well I'd like to see that analyses. OTOH

While there are several top tight ends to choose from as the NFL’s best (himself included), Kittle recently told his former teammate Richard Sherman there’s one in the league who doesn’t receive enough love.

“I think one of my most underrated guys, Dallas Goedert with Philly,” Kittle said on Sunday’s episode of “The Richard Sherman Podcast.” “I don’t think he gets any credit. He’s phenomenal. He’s really good in the run game, and I think he’s really, really good in the pass game. He’s got a great feel for it.”

well I'd like to see that analyses.
The last two years:

Games: Kittle 29, Goedert 27.
Receptions: Kittle 131, Goedert 111.
Yards per reception (averaging the two years): Kittle 12.8, Goedert 13.8.
Yards per game (averaged): Kittle 58, Goedert 57.
Touchdowns: Kittle 17, Goedert 7.

If you want to make the argument that Goedert is better than Kittle, knock yourself out. But, stop with the “creation of the media” bs. We’re not going to fall for that.

I get it, you can’t make the argument that Goedert is better than Kittle so you come up with something totally unrelated to production on the field.
the reason Kittle is preceived to be better by most fans is because of clips like this. Its hard to judge relative to production on the field because Goedert is playing with 3 other guys that have over 1000 yds from scrimmage, which means he is not the Eagles first choice on O. Goedert does not score as well in fantasy leagues. Who knows what Goedert stats would be if he played in all 17 games as Kittle did, but I think an objective person would see these stats as very even. The one thing I do know is, Sunday aint fantasy football.

The one thing the statistics do not show is Kittles blocking ability. He has made an art form out of it and is a master of his craft. Takes more pride in blocking than all of the receiving numbers.

OTOH
Only 2 tight ends have ranked in the top-10 in PFF receiving and run-blocking grade since 2018: George Kittle and Dallas Goedert
so there's that.

Sez you. You know this how? Most fans? How did you get into their heads?

Maybe it’s possible that “most fans” base their opinions that Kittle is better simply because they see him scoring more often than they see Goedert scoring. That simple.

I am not saying that Kittle is better than Goedert. Just stop with the bs that Kittle is a creation of the media. Just stop.

why? its clear he's the media darling Goedert is not.
That doesn’t mean Goedert is better. Maybe Kittle is the media darling because he’s better than Goedert, ever consider that?

If you want to make the argument that Goedert is better, fire away. But “Kittle is a media darling, and therefore Goedert is better,” isn’t a serious argument.

Goedert's good, no doubt. He's just not on Kittle's level. PFF has Kittle as the #2 graded TE (at 82.0), behind Kelce (obviously, at 91.1).

Edit: Andrews was #3 rated (at 80.3). Beyond that, I don't know (rankings wise), as it's premium content. I think, but can't be sure, that Goedert is 4th at 76.2. (Freiermuth was 75.5, Njoku at 73.3).

So, I'd say we have a God Tier of Kelce ... then All-Pro of Kittle/Andrews ... and then below that, is a group of very good options, like Goedert, Freiermuth and others.

Where? All you’ve said is that “an objective person would see these stats as being even,” and that “stats don’t tell the whole story.” I agree to both. You’ve said that Goedert is better but you’ve never said why. You’ve made no substantive argument that Goedert is better. When posters said that Kittle was better, instead of saying that Goedert is better because of X, Y, and Z, you replied that it was because of the media.
