Just watched it. So damn glad to have him back. You can tell he's just happy to be here. Said as soon as this position came up he called Beamer to express interest. Ended it with "Glad to be back home"...Welcome Home, Coach!!

I saw Beamer took some heat for the timing of the move. Guess it's just business.

Yeah, there was some media hack that went after Beamer. But then had to apologize when he learned that SE made the initial contact. What's Beamer supposed to do, say no?? lol

Ah, ok. I had not followed it closely enough to know that Elliott reached out first. I presume his move was motivated by NIL/portal uncertainty.

He said it was a lot of reasons, that was one. Said he'd lost 22 players over the last 2 years to P5 teams. Said he's got a son and daughter at AC Flora. Son plays FB, daughter cheers. Talked about the possibility of him being on the field at the same time as his son and daughter at USC and how awesome that would be if it were to come true. Sounds like he was just ready to come home.

It is stupid to give Beamer heat over timing. It is not like he asked for a coach to leave for another job. He had nothing to do with the timing.

I believe the article was written under the assumption that Beamer reached out and poached a head coach during that school's spring practices, which I agree would be a very poor look. As it is, as noted above, that is not what happened. Elliott reached out to us first.

Even if he did, that is just how it works sometimes. Can't help it when you have one of your guys leave you with an opening to fill. You reach out to who you think would be the best hire.

A man that never moved to where his job is moving back to where his home, house, and family are is the man to look at when it's time to mete out blame. He has the strongest motive.

Even if Elliott hasn’t reached out, I don’t get the Beamer trashing. His job it to hire the staff he feels makes his program better. The other party has the free will to say no. I think in this landscape we’ll see more of this.

Maybe there just is no blame.
