Maybe I'm the only one who doesn't think he's good NFL material. I guess mid to late round pick and a short career if he does make it.

Never can tell really, but he has some attributes that should translate to the NFL. Just a tough runner and runs well between the tackles. He'll be one of the first backs taken in the draft.

Yep, seems he was a lot better earlier in his career, but then had carries given to Mahfa, makes me think he wasn't 100%. Reminds me a lot of Mizzou's Cody Schrader, I would have to go Schrader if I had my chose!

Shipley?? No way. PFF has him as the 9th RB, 122 overall. He's going to be a mid-late round pick.

No RB is projected for the 1st round. The top RB is projected as a late 2nd round pick as are the #s 2 and 3 backs. #s 4-9 are projected as 3rd round, but they're all pretty jumbled together. So, the majority of the top 10 backs are projected as mid-rounders. The #4 back grades out at 84.4. Shipley at #9 grades out at 83.7. Obviously, Shipley being the 9th back does not mean he will be the 9th back taken.

A lot will depend on combine showings. Positioning can change a lot.

I can't imagine him showing out at the combine. I'd be shocked if he's higher than 4th round. Still think it's a good decision for him to leave. He's not going to improve his position, and he's had a lot of carries on his body already. Get that bread while you can.

Agreed - he's not going to improve his draft stock much. And with RBs having a draft ceiling that other positions don't have, if he thinks he'll get drafted at all, now is the time.

I could actually see him having a decent career in the NFL. He's kind of a Christian McCaffrey-light in terms of skill set. I don't ever see him getting used enough to be a 1,000-yard-back - but he'd be a good change of pace for a team like the Titans that lean heavy on one really good back.

No, you’re not the only one. I don’t see it, never have, and not because ‘clemson; he just looks pedestrian. Someone mentioned the Mizzou back; I’d take him any day.

To hear "them" talk about him, he was the Second Coming of Christian McCaffrey.

I think we will know a lot more after the combine. Shipley can be caught from behind, I don't recall ETN ever being caught from behind. My guess is Shipley runs a 4.55 to 4.6 in the 40. He is a good all around back but doesn't do anything that will make defenses gameplan differently.
