Not having helmets and shoulder pads changes your perspective.
That's the biggest thing. I don't want to say it makes them more "timid" as far as their approach to tackling, but it makes them more strategic and efficient (?) in the way they tackle.

Watched both games today, tried to understand the rules as play went on. Still don't understand how you stop anyone. Put the ball carrier on the ground and ball is being fumbled about, but then gets free and lateraled.

How are there not severe injuries all the time in rugby?

Seriously.

One possible answer is: Bob Sanders doesn't play rugby. If he did, there would be many more injuries.
