Do managers even matter nowadays? Seems the GM is more important to build the team.
Not really. Maybe helping to set a culture of a locker room. Pretty much every manager is the same now… manage to whatever analytics tell them. Not saying that is right or wrong, just the truth. You could have a computer manage your team now.

Not surprising. They have been bad. Not as bad as Rockies but still pretty bad.
The Mets just hired David Stearns away from the Brewers as the president of baseball ops and Stearns was NAFOBS (not a fan of buck showalter). Rumor is he'll be bringing Craig Counsell with him.

Stearns did a really good job at Milwaukee with their small payroll. It'll be interesting to see how he does with seemingly unlimited resources.

Bochy has made a big difference in year 1 for the Rangers. Still can't believe they blew 30+ saves and won 90 games. Not to mention all the major injuries.
