in 1999 when they beat South Panola in the regular season only to come back and lose to South Panola in the playoffs. I think they won their last state championship in 1992.

but you are right about the Ridgeland split knocking them down about 50%. But they will compete in football for the next couple of years. Lots of Fr and Sophs coming back who played on last year's team.

Tupelo has won the all-sports award something like 15 times out of the last 20 years correct?

That school didn't split very many years ago.

wants to say that MC would have a good chance of winning the 5A/6A Championship in a couple of years if it wasn't for that team in Batesville.

They did show me something last year after they went 0-4 and won the district, as crappy as their district may have been. They probably overscheduled last year. All they really need are five or six Dandy Dozen players and maybe they can make a run at it.

they always have badass baseball and soccer teams.. they usually contend for boys and girls soccer state titles year in/out.

.. not to mention the outstanding football teams they produce but fail again and again to get anywhere.

that those awards (and this poll) take into account sports like boys bowling. how many schools have bowling teams?

just reviving the old mc v tupelo rivalry (because they're really the two that can compete for the overall awards).

There are several 1A schools that have bowling, so I would imagine many of them do.
