I actually met him when I was in California for the 1995 Rose Bowl. I was walking on the beach in La Jolla and he actually stopped me since I had my PSU gear on. He was doing the Holiday Bowl that week. Good announcer.

I remember he had a great stint with ESPN Saturday prime time college football. He worked along with Mike Gottfried. They were a good pair in the booth.
