Since we’re just throwing names out there, how about Greg Schiano?

He’s got Rutgers bowl eligible already this season and looks good to win eight games. He’s in his fourth year of his second stint at Rutgers and is 18-25, which doesn’t look impressive until you consider the four years prior to him arriving they were 9-39. He has, for the second time, built Rutgers into a respectable program. He also was Ohio State’s defensive coordinator for a few years and was named the nation’s top recruiter one of those seasons. I’d take him over Tom Herman and Clay Helton, that’s for sure.

There are worse candidates, but whoever we hire is probably going to be offensive minded.

Something I just noticed. Schiano, after being fired from Tampa, spent 2 years out of football. Folks said he wasn't coming back.

Leach, after the ice closet incident, spent 2 years in TV and radio. Folks said he wasn't coming back.

Urban spent 1 year after Florida with chest pains, folks said he wasn't coming back. Then he spent 2 years off after tOSU, before going to Jacksonville.

Guess who else is about to finish up his second year of not coaching football and playing around on TV and such, and folks are 100% sure he's not coming back???

Hmmmm.....

Since Schiano is signed thru the 29/30 season at 4 mill a year my guess is that is not a possibility
