Just wondering if anybody knows why CBS cameras kept focusing in on Melendez at the end of the game?

Put all your money on St. Mary's being the first 16-1 upset winner. Then as we watch Baylor walk through their broken bracket, we'll all be thinking, the should have been us.
Virginia has the honor of already being the first 1 to lose to a 16. Also you can put that Duke thought to bed. They’re up 26 at the half.

Purdue was the second 1 seed to lose to a 16 seed. They accomplished that feat in 2023 against Fairleigh Dickinson

I don't even care about any of our athletic teams anymore. I'm over all this underperforming bunch of losers and will concentrate my time on more important things that don't upset me constantly.
I agree! I have been doing MSU athletics for 40+yrs. I have witnessed enough heartbreak over those years. I don’t know if it is the current terrible nil/portal era of college sports, or the status quo of being MSU mediocre or just I am old now. It really angers me that our athletic department does not demand excellence and hasn’t for a long time.

You’re not alone. I didn’t even watch the game, I turkey hunted and enjoyed my time. Less trips to Starkville has provided more funds to hunt and enjoy myself. Sucks for the school and Starkville b/c there are many more fans just like us. The NIL era has killed excitement also. If players wasn’t fans to pay them they should be expected to perform and not half-*** it.

This year at State isn't horrible like it was in the late 1960's or mid-1980's. What's bad is the NIL and transfer portal. The players don't give a **** about being there, why should fans give a **** about watching them?
